I was fooled by the wording as well: They are distinguishing between "passengers" and "driver". So two passengers and one driver equals three people in the car.

Patricia, this is not about compassion so much as control. Were I to go and tell the homeless that they were welcome to sleep on your property, you would likely take offense to that. Perhaps your sense of compassion does offer this benefit to strangers, but I have no business creating policy for what happens in your yard. This is the basis of the objection: Boulder should - for better or worse - have the power to decide locally what makes sense for our community.

Hi Erica: In this and every other election results piece I've read you state the number of votes counted but not the number of votes cast. Readers have no way of knowing if 21,000 counted is a lot or a little. If you could state the % of votes reported that would be very helpful. Thanks!
