Here...Here....I shop at Aldis. I love it. The German company is run by 2 brothers who are some of the wealthiest people in the world. But the point I made is confirmed by your comments. Vegetables are more expensive but lets not stray from reality. Policy should be to eliminate products eligible for purchase with too high of sugar, fat and salt. Don't tax them but make them ineligible like alcohol. Peanut butter is good food...Eggs, milk, juice, apples, carrots, grapefruit, oranges, tomatoes, lettuce...All under $2....Sorry, not buying it from the Social Services....appreciate what you do but the program is long over due for some changes towards healthy food choices....
I am going to blow the BS whistle here. America doesn't have the fattest people in the world and the highest rate of diabetes because we don't have enough food. Go walk around Aldi's or Wal Mart and look at the low income folks....many are fat.
For all of those engaged in racial profiling studies lets make sure we score one for the ex con/ meth head/white trash team.
The difference between CR and Dubuqe is a matter of a few miles...
The truth is now there around a 70% vacancy rate downtown I don't care what the newspaper says. Just drive around downtown and one can do the math. The way to get people back downtown is to tear half of it down.
Lets be creative and just level it all, Sinclair style...We burn it to the ground and then have zero investigation to determine how it happened and then haul off to the junkyard....Downtown becomes a giant green square park...
What is the old saying...too much of anything is probably not good. Once upon a time Iowa had a bunch of farmers and a handful of religions. But that wasn't enough. Now we have a handful of corporate farmers convincing us the hog lots, egg plants, packing plants, waters and soils are all safe and good for Iowans. Now we also have a hundred different religions; most of them ravaged by scandals, incompetence and diminished tithing.
If Iowa history is correct in repeating itself we will have 7 feet tall naturally organic lesbians eating $7,000 a dozen eggs at church...their own.
lets see....
The Hawkeye Football team....forget it. All the donations in the world wont help this program.
The Hawkeye Basketball team... pleeze. There is no legacy and no future...There is pity.
But the endowment... this helps pay for stadium renovations, so the hawks can finish 6-5 every year.
For carver to be renovated so it sits half full 75% of the time
But what about the students? Where is the tuition reimbursement? where are the jobs? This stuff is a pipe dream that ends up with guys like Jerry Jones calling the shots and students in debt up to their eyes with poor job prospects when they finish....and who doesn't finish anymore? Hey, but that got a flat screen ,right? But no one one wants to talk about this and this is not the foundations responsibility, not their department, the sports program is different, etc...Trim the fat starting with the fat heads at the foundation.. Your paychecks are nice. Your results are poor.
Say what you want. Lets take a random sample.....If 12 athletes from any other program, other than our own, had 12 guys fall "ill" from the same routine all former hawks that have endured the same without an issue would lead the random mind to suspect something is up. Proof....? watch the media in the shortest of order. The investigation will meander into zero, like the Sinclair fire, and then a confession. Call me Ms. Cleo. Don't believe the hype. The money that goes to the football team is entertainment for tax breaks...It helps no one but boosters...Think I am kidding...Look at superbowl ticket prices..all is hush in the bull pen...NCAA
Kirk, spare me. We got kids fighting for this country and dying every day in Afghan and you don't even have enough heart to release these college kids names. Yes, they were taking drugs. It is already coming out, coach. Probably the ones left over in DJK's locker. The workout? C'mon coach you are starting to sound incompetent or doing your best to act like Lance Armstrong. This is about the same accountability you expect from your players. You are not worth the money and neither is your program...Your players future? Unemployment line of scrimmage. Yours? An undoubted pay raise:(
Unfortunately, Ronbo and The Pawns are not working on commission. Curious to see how much was billed and paid out in the pursuit of this pipe dream. We are working on the float for the 2011 St. Pat's Parade now. This will be the flood recovery float that resembles the USS Abraham Lincoln with a banner that reads "Mission Accomplished" with the city council and Ron at the podium.
