Coach Mac launched a coordinated attack on the university. We appreciate what he did in the 80s and 90s - but I don't want anything to do with that guy.
I want to add that McCartney has tarnished his reputation in my eyes. I hope the program cuts ties with him completely. He is way out of line.
Just because you saw it coming doesn't mean the scrutiny is fair or justified. Furthermore, how can you argue with a straight face that a coach whose system has completely failed ought to be allowed to start over and implement a new system with which he has no experience? The fallout over this has been very bizarre, not the least of which has been how the local media has chosen to cover it.
This article sucks. It's very obviously attempting to be a moderately-toned fluff piece. A contrarian take for the sake of being a contrarian. I'm not buying it - our program is on life support and still in a death spiral. Things are getting worse, not better.

We are the worst of the worst. If Bohn doesn't have the fortitude to fire this entire staff, then he doesn't deserve to have a job. This simply cannot persist. Fire everybody and please do it soon.
It would be nice if a leader emerged through all of this. I don't care if it's a coach or a player or an administrator - but when you keep hitting a new rock bottom every single week something has to change. Anything. Just do something different. This is embarrassing for all involved.
The only reason I don't hate this move is because Webb (probably) gives us the best chance to win the early winnable non-conference games on our schedule. Once conference play starts there are going to be plenty of snaps for the younger guys to take their lumps. Conventional wisdom says let the younger guys get some experience early, but I don't mind Embree's desire to win and win now.
