I don't think they got it right. They see militias as a reaction to a black president. The re-emergence of militias is more a backlash against government in both flavors, Republican and Democrat by Americans and the need to find a common voice and a sense of protection from likeminded people.

Its about government ignoring illegal immigration, government taxing people and redistributing their money to welfare recipients and government not doing nothing to protect the bulwarks of culture like one common language, values, decency, respect, etc..

The same thing is happening in Western Europe and Russia evidenced in the rise of Nationalist (not National Socialist, but Nationalist) political parties.
