Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : 4/17/09: Hispanic Groups Call For Census Boycott

My cousin married a guy who was here illegally from Guatemala (who then went through the process and became a citizen, so he managed to get it half right). She complained once about how the other illegals are afraid to file their taxes and miss out on their refunds because they might be caught. Darn right. If they are using someone elses stolen Social Security number, and they file taxes, there is a pretty good chance that they are going to cause hours of frustration for the real owner of that SS#. If they miss out on a refund because they are breaking the law, that's tough. As for the census, if we deport them they won't have the choice to boycott.

Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : Information-Stealing Network of Computers Found In China

That isn't so unusual. Computer hacking is defined as the practice of modifying computer hardware and software to accomplish a goal outside of the creator’s original purpose. It is based in curiousity and can be used for good or destructive purposes. Viruses are nothing more than good programs used for evil purposes. The same program that lets you remote control your computer at the office becomes a virus if someone alters the code and hides it in your machine. A program that indexes the pictures on your computer can have a few lines added in to delete any picture files it finds. I use several programs that come up as viruses. When a customer has forgotten their password there is a program that can take ****** and show you the saved password. Useful to the customer, bad if someone else gets it.

Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : The 9/12

There is a difference between liberal and conservative goals. Liberals believe the federal government should handle everything with high federal taxes and regulation, and lower state involvement. Conservatives believe in lower federal taxes, and if the communities themselves don't support each other, then the local and state governments take up the slack. In the end both sides want the same result.

Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : The 9/12

Glenn made a comment today about making this movement about more than just Obama or the government, and it made me think a little. He's made other similar comments, but this one is fresh on my mind and I was near a computer. First, we all need to try to live the principles and values ourselves, which I will assume we are all trying to do already. The best way we can get other people to stand up with us, and to get politicians to listen to us, is to live it ourselves. Second, we need to show others that our goals are the same as theirs (except for the socialism aspects). We need to show examples of the employers who run their business according to the values, and the employees who truly like their jobs because of it; Examples of the charity work people are willing to do regardless of government meddling; Examples of doctors who provide healthcare and wave the customer portion of the bill because they know the money just isn't there.

Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : A Card Check Update

Can you imagine if card check existed for marriages? The divorce rate would be 100%. The current system allows employers to plead their case, and employees to calm down and really look at their work situation rationally.

Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : American Has A Minimum Wage, And Apparently We're About To Have A Maximum Wage

Well, since like most people I can't seem to reply to any post lower on the page than mine... Mary in your example chose to apply for that job. She knew when she accepted the job what the hourly wage/salary would be. She had the chance to ask if there would be chances for overtime and what benefits would be available. So she should have known before she started if the job would be enough for her to provide for her family. If it wasn't, she should have applied for a different job, or taken the job and continued to look for another one that would provide the income she needed. If you create a deceptive hiring law that requires businesses to be responsible for any added cost an employee might need at the end of the year, then businesses will stop hiring people that are a risk. As to the 20-25% comment. If people won't take those jobs companies are forced to increase the incentives so people will want them.

So instead of Mary getting a job that provides some income, she wouldn't get any job?

Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : The Post Office Announces 3000 Jobs To Be Cut Then We Learn That Congress Approved A Raise & A Bonu

Don't believe everything you get in an email. http://urbanlegends.about.com/od/government/a/mus... "Comments: Though the intent of this missive is humorous and it makes a worthy point — namely, mixing government and business can create more problems than it solves — it rests on a factual error. In reality, the federal government did not attempt to operate Mustang Ranch after it was seized in a bankruptcy proceeding in September 1990. It's true that the feds had planned on keeping the business going until the brothel could be sold at auction (a scheme that became the butt of numerous jokes on late-night TV), but a U.S. judge refused to allow the bankruptcy trustee to assume the Ranch's business license. Instead, the IRS foreclosed on the property and auctioned it off a few months later. "

Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : Proposed "Cap & Trade" Policy Looks Like A Regressive Tax

So true. I watched "The Day the Earth Stood Still" and I found a problem in their logic. I'll try not to spoil it for anyone but basically humans are destroying the earth and at the end of the movie there is no more electricity in the whole world. Do they have any idea how much pollution there will be when everyone in the world is cooking their food over open fires, and using fireplaces for heat? Not to mention the trees that will have to be cut down to provide all that wood and clear space for more farming (less efficient manual farming). I don't think people realize how far we have come, and that we are still working on cutting pollution. We just don't need the government forcing us to do it in a fiscally irresponsible manner. As technology becomes viable, people choose to use it more.

Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : The US Dollar is losing strength at a rate not seen in 24 years.

Very good video. That is why Gold is a hedge against inflation. If you have $1 in your pocket you can buy 1 loaf of bread. If gold goes from $1000 per ounce to $5000 per ounce, you now need $5 per loaf of bread. If you saved that $1 in a bank it wouldn't buy a loaf of bread, but if you convert it to gold, inflation occurs, and then you convert it back, you can buy your loaf of bread. Basically, saving money in the bank is good during a deflationary period, but very bad if we have inflation. Converting to gold or silver is a flat line with very little gain or loss. So it really doesn't make you money, even though it appears to.

Yep, it has helped quite a bit that we already have food storage. We also have a large garden, an orchard with apples and plums, and several cows. I may not have liked working in the garden as a kid, but you learn important values doing it. That's one nice thing about the LDS faith and this area in general. We are taught to be prepared, work hard, and help our fellow man. Even if things get bad here in Idaho (which I don't think will be hit as hard as the coastal areas) I am confident in our ability to weather the storm.
