I hope that Gabrielle Giffords makes it through w/o any permanent damage.

One watching this does have to ask some key questions:

Q1. Who or what movement benefits from this)?
A1. Pro-Obama care (many will say, "if this man had proper gov treatment, this wouldn't have happened."), pro-gun control, anti-Tea Party movement, and pro-internet monitoring/regulating.

Q2. Who loses?
A2. The Tea Party movement and supporters of the Bill of Rights (especially the 1st and 2nd amendments).

Q3. Which persons (friends, neighbors, doctors, etc.) or entities (blog sites, movements, etc.) was the shooter in contact with prior to the shooting?
A3. ?????????????????????

Also what profile matches does he have (other than being insane) in common w/ the guy who flew the plane into the IRS building in Texas and even the JFK assassin?

It would be interesting to see where the answers to these questions lead...
However, I doubt that will be the case.

HEY! Speak for yourself. I'm not willing to take risks (political correctness, getting rid of the 2nd amendment, ignoring someone reciting Islamic prayers on a plane while sweating heavily, leave the boarders open, etc) and neither should Prime Minister Netanyahu. What Obama really means, is that Israel should give up more land from which the Palestinians can launch more attacks from and murder more Israelis. NO ONE SHOULD HAVE TO TAKE [THAT] RISK!

Janet Napolitano already described Americans who believe in the Constitution (Tea Party members, patriotic soldiers, and dissenters of the Obama administration) as more dangerous than the actual terrorists.

The way I see it there are only 2 ways Obama could get reelected in 2012:
1. Legalize the 25-30 million illegal aliens (thus giving them the right to vote).
2. Like you stated, issue some sort of "state of emergency" to oppress the people and suspend elections.

He's already achieved: gov takeover of the mortgage industry, gov takeover of the student loan industry, gov takeover of the auto industry, gov takeover of the health care industry, running up the national debt to astronomical levels, isolated our allies while embracing our enemies, vilified those who believe in borders while helping those who want to circumvent our borders, nominated 2 socialist/anti-American judges to the Supreme Court, and allowed the black panthers to practice voter intimidation at the polls w/o consequence.

Instating martial law (from an emergency real, imagined, or manufactured) would not be any surprise to me.

Right now, Bill Ayers and Jerehiah Wright are probably high-fiving each other.
