I lived right off of the Boulder Creek Path a little east of downtown for about 3.5 years until I just recently had to move for financial reasons. I walked, biked and ran on the path hundreds of times over that period of time and I never had a bad experience. Were there homeless people along the path and in the parks it passes through? Sure. But none of them ever made me question my safety or did anything to disturb me. From what I've seen and experienced there's no reason that everyone can't enjoy the creek path as it is right now and there's no reason to fear for your safety while doing it, and I would expect the many, many people that use the path everyday to tell you the same thing.

It's a tragedy that two people died in central Boulder over the past couple days, there's no doubt about that, but we should wait until someone has an idea of what or who was behind those deaths before we get too fired up and start pointing fingers. From what I read there was no indication of foul play in the earlier death and the same finding seems likely here.
