That sounds kind of like the old "Hedge Schools" in Ireland where the local parish priest would teach classes by the hedges (and out of view of the British authorities). They had no text books and pretty much taught (and the students learned) from memory-and discipline was strict.
They didn't report it because the Libyans were asking for Bush-"Where's Bush?" "Bush come help us!"
Hey, being a movie star made Michael Douglas an "expert" on nuclear disarmament. He used to travel all over the US and Europe giving lectures on the subject. The dumbass probably couldn't tell you what "throw weight" was , but that didn't stop him from flapping his gums.
EdSki: We're arguing the same thing from 2 different directions, but we both agree on the ultimate point-too much government involved in determining "morality" . You seem to be saying that govt is pushing "We the people" off the field. I say that "We the people" have been abdicating our responsibility to live as responsible, self disciplined, moral beings and therefore govt is filling the vacuum.
I think that you are engaging in an exercise in moral relativism. The problem we face as a nation is that as we become less moral and disciplined as a people, the more it becomes necessary for government to intervene and define "morality" to the extent that a government can do that. As government assumes more and more responsibility for the things for which we ought to be responsible ourselves, then the definition of "morality" is subject to the whims of parties and politicians, and popular tastes, and changes from election to election.
After being married to that bird of prey, can you really blame Michael Huffington for being gay?
I'm in too. Double Expert 5 times in Uncle Sugar's Misguided Children
Actually, the Barbary Pirates were in North Africa. "From the Halls of Montezuma to the shores of Tripoli..."
Don't forget, they also have shareholders to whom they are responsible. Or maybe malachi thinks that the people who's 401(K)'s are invested with Chevron are soulless too? As owners of the company, they are entitled to due process.
