I've been his biggest fan since his early work for the National Lampoon back in the seventies. He is always the funniest guy in the room, and the most perceptive.

I am so tired of this old canard. Rubio was born here and he is therefore a natural citizen. End of story. If you think otherwise, take it to court.
When my children wanted to read this book when it came out, I got a copy and went through it. I don't like magical or witchcraft themes because the proposition of witchcraft is the same as gambling-- you can get an unfair advantage over people, power or wealth without merit. The book had no such message. It was full of positive values, conservative if you want to call them that. I approved heartily and argued in favor of the books with my more conservative pastoral colleagues. As long as you understand that this is a story and that magic isn't real, it is harmless to children and builds their understanding of real virtues. I'm glad other people are recognizing this.
I remember two people the most vividly from that time-- Fonda and John Kerry. I promised to never forget how they betrayed us and never forgive their treason. Treason. The word isn't used much and it is often misused, but not here.
I remember my father and I cheering while we watched Castro enter La Habana on TV. We thought free government had come to Cuba. My uncle Louis said he was a Communist and would start a bloodbath.
As usual, the evil ol' uncle Louis was completely right.
I made several trips back to Cuba for the church. They not only spied on me there, they reported back what I said to the newspapers in the US. Oddly enough, I haven't been able to get a visa in twenty years. I live for the day when every apparatchik in Cuba is hanged from the palm trees.
I realized a decade ago that every musical I enjoyed was a revival, often written before I was born. At first I lamented that I was turning into my father. Then I realized that compared to the standard for men today, that wasn't such a bad thing even if he was an evil ol' tyrant most of the time.

It's a board for rational people who support democracies. Leave. It's against everything you are and stand for.
Is anyone taking up a collection for torpedo boats to meet this flotilla?
