Thanks for the link and it sounds like her parents have done a good job with her as she does sound like a good kid. In this case, I think it was a consequence rather than a punishment. Hats off to the parents.
I often wonder this, too. She was a little girl once. Was there a point where society could have made a difference? I truly believe we could for a lot of children. Yet, the comments posted on stories like this show not many are interested in doing what it takes to turn things around.
The school's first priority is to get rid of this individual! There are so many reasons and disrespect for authority is just the starting point. The fact that he could not let it go speaks volumes as to his mental stability.
I don't care what Culver's role has or has not been in the flood recovery. I wanted to know what Branstad is for or against when it comes to Cedar Rapids rebuilding? We in CR need to know this before we vote.
WHAT ABOUT RESTORING OUR PUBLIC TRANSIT!!!!!! OR MAKING IT BETTER THA IT WAS...... I am so disgusted with CR city council that I am ready to sell my home and move out of the county.

I am a state employee and I am not whining. I am stating a fact from June 2010 to July 2010 our office went from 16 to 11 employees. That is more than a 25% reduction in manpower. Plus several of the staff we lost took years of experience with them. Budget cuts or underfunding mandated programs have real everyday consequences for the citizens of this state.
And to add the number are those that go from family member to family member (or friend to friend) spending a few nights with each. It is scary because with the loss of a job or health insurance when you have medical bills it could happen to many middle class people. Not many families have that kind of money in savings.
