The winter of 1990-91 here in Idaho we broke two records. One was the duration of temperatures (6 weeks) never getting above zero. The other was the minus temperatures broke record cold temperatures set in 1894.
I noticed on the weather report the other evening the coldest temperatures were listing the 1890's as having set the coldest temperature. Not 1990-91.
Sorry all you fans of boregore but I do not like those minus temperatures. Neither did my roses. I lost all of my white rose bushes that year.
We had a popular garden talk show and caller after caller called in commenting on how many bushes had died. These bushes were 30, 40, 50 years old; well established and they do not survive the cold of 90-91.
IF by global warming you mean we have winters warmer than 90-91 - I am all for it.

This is the same idiot who claims he invited the internet. By the way it was the US military who invented the internet. Instead of getting royalties they shared it.

DDT was banned sometime after 1960, I forget the exact year. There were more eagles in 1960 than in 1940. I lost the web site where I got this information.

Right now there are soaps and anti-bacterial soaps. You have a choice. This is the government taking away one more right to choose.
I wish congress would defund the EPA. I do not need a 24 hour baby sitter. i am 61 and have manage not to kill myself so I believe I am doing something right. No thanks to the government and their moronic ideas.
