The 'Ropolitans : Twenty-three years ago…

I was 7 at the time. I specifically remember my mom waking me up (it was a school night) to tell me that the Mets had won. What could be better for a 2nd grader than that?

The 'Ropolitans : Report: Jose Reyes has torn hamstring, may require surgery

I have thought for a while now that even if none of the injuries can be blamed on a poor training staff, the whole lot needs to be let go this coming offseason, just to make a statement that the Mets take these injuries seriously. Why would any free agent sign with the Mets with the perception that we completely mismanage our players' health?

The 'Ropolitans : Source: Mets DFA Figueroa...again

After his wife posted about how upset and angry they both were earlier this season when he was DFAed, I was surprised they re-signed him again. I can't imagine either side will do it again.

The 'Ropolitans : Why Jon Niese over Nelson Figueroa?

Here's my question. If the game Friday gets washed out, does Niese make Saturday's start or do they just keep the rotation the same? (I ask since I'm going on Saturday for the first time.)

Absolutely right. Josh Johnson was dominant, and on a day like he had today, there's no team that would have been able to get after him. While I certainly didn't like the outcome, it was nice to see an extremely well pitched game. Great baseball.

MetsBlog.com : Must Read: Santana is Finding his Rhythm

Enjoy that Mr. Met. Here in Rochester, NY, some of us are headed over to Acme on Monroe Ave. You know, just in case anyone from Rochester still was looking for a place to watch the game. I can guarantee healthy doses of beer, Mets love and Phillies bashing. And good pizza.

While it's really just how it breaks, that's great for Pelfrey to get the first game at Citi. That's a big honor for him. While it would have been cool to see Santana throw it out, I think it's cool that a good, homegrown guy is doing it.

If we have Marlon batting .225, and Sheffield batting .225, I guess I'd rather have Sheffield's power. But, when you talk about intangibles, I think Marlon's a better team guy, and that's more important for this club.
