I agree, the right to own and bear arms is a national thing. It is a right granted to us by the Constitution, but that does not mean carrying of a "concealed" weapon in my opinion. That is a privilege granted to a person by the licensing authority of a State. I see it not unlike a fishing and hunting license. I have one for Texas, does that mean Oklahoma and New Mexico have to honor it?

Yes, you are correct. If it passed, it would be veto'd when it hit the Presidents desk. No veto override possible.

I am personally torn about this issue. I have my CHL, as does my wife. I see myself as a responsible, law abiding citizen, regardless of where I happen to be at any given time. I think it is my right under the Constitution to own any firearm I choose to own, however, "Concealed Carry" is not a right in my opinion, it is a privilege, earned by me because I am a law abiding citizen, and I have demonstrated the prerequisite skill and knowledge about the use of firearms, and granted to my by the State of Texas. The Constitution does not state that it is a right to carry a concealed weapon.

I am solidly for States Rights. If a state decides to honor another states CHL, then great, if not, I believe that should be their choice. The Federal Gov't. needs to stay out of it. Let the states manage it for themselves.

I know some disagree, but we can't have it both ways. If you support the right of a state to say, weapons produced, sold and kept within state lines do not fall under BATF regulations, then you shouldn't support the Feds telling a state that they have to recognize a license granted in another state.

I am having a tough time with this concept these days. I would love to buy domestic products, but I have a problem with the way the government is taking over American companies. I will never buy another Union Labor produced American automobile. I have cancelled all of my credit cards that were issued by Banks that took TARP money and then turned over common stock to the US Govt. They get enough of my money every April, and I won't help promote and perpetuate a S o cialist / Fa sc ist economy or bureaucracy, not by choice anyway. These companies were poorly run, and should have been allowed to fail.

Humane and righteous? There is nothing humane or righteous about a blatant money and power grab. This has nothing to do with saving the environment, it is a scam that allows a select few "Big" corporations the ability to get rich selling "carbon derivatives".

Open your eyes! The earth is warming because the sun, remember the sun?, the big yellow ball in the sky, is in a period of elevated activity. More energy is being pumped out and the earth is in the way. It has happened this way since the dawn of time.

The problem is that the Republican Party, supposedly the opposition party, seems to be giving tacit approval to all of these things. Yes, maybe they do not have the numbers to stop any of this, but where is the outrage? I cannot remember seeing any of the so-called Republican Leadership on the tube so much as raising a objection to any of this. Talk about frustrating! So what are we left to believe? Are they in on it, but don't want the stigma attached to them? I am starting to think so. Bush did authorized TARP after all.

All of these Czars being appointed by Obama, and not one peep from a Republican Senator about how the Constitution is being circumvented. Only a few Dems like "Sheets" Bird are willing to stand up and object. Newt will give a speech here or there, but where was he last year? Did we not see all of this coming? I know I did, but I am not a politician, only a father and a businessman trying to hold on to what little I have left.

I personally think it is just about time to call for a Constitutional Convention, because at this pace, there will be little left that we recognize by the time the mid-term elections roll around.

It is fairly apparent that all of the Justices have been watching what is going on and discussing events to some extent. I suspect that Justice Ginsberg was fully aware that a number of the Justices want the chance to weigh in on this as decades upon decades of established Bankruptcy law hangs in the balance.

You are close, but there is still a lot of oversight. The following was taken from a British Journal of Public Health Medicine.

Since 1978, however, China's leadership has taken a
new developmental path and the chosen route to
economic transformation uses the market rather than
central direction and planning as a means of economic
growth. These macro-economic changes have, in turn,
produced major effects on the organization and
financing of health services.

So, the PRC is rapidly moving toward a free market economy and we are going the other direction. Go figure! We get what we deserve.

My take on it is that if Gen. Powell expects us to believe that he is a Republican, not a Conservative, just a Republican, then why did he not throw his support behind John McCain? 85% of McCain's policies were for all practical purposes, the same as Pres. Obama's. If this is truly the case, I can only assume that the only reason Gen. Powell voted for President Obama is due to race. If this indeed was the true reason he voted for Obama, then he has no credibility in the Republican Party or any other because if his strongest principle is to vote for someone of the same race as he, and not for the most qualified candidate, or candidate that best reflects his political beliefs, then he has no credibility at all.
