Hmmm....says there are 11 comments on the main page, but I don't see any here. Well here's to hoping this blurb of mine doesn't disappear after posting. This was an all around great episode (although I'm starting to feel like Marshall and Lily are just being used as filler so far this season, I'm slightly worried about where the writers can go with fresh ideas for them).

Some favorite moments:
Bowl...bowl....bowl
Cover Hog!!!
"I've gotta find a way to reach this kid!"
"When you see that face, don't take a picture of it, because she will punch you, and you will cry...for the third time... that night."

Overall, a solid episode in developing the BaRobin (still like RoBarn better) angle. My biggest laugh came from when Robin stormed into the classroom and Ted pointed out the flared nostril ridges and wide unblinking eyes. Gotta love teacher Ted.

I would agree with you, but I think lots of people up until this season still held out hope that Ted and Robin would end up together (even with her being referred to as Aunt Robin since the pilot). I know Bays and Thomas will make it work, as they have in the past, it's just an interesting predicament that they have to deal with now that they dropped such a huge hint on the mother's identity. I have the utmost confidence for the show to still be legendary, I just knew in the back of my mind throughout the episode that there was no way this girl could be the Mother, even though they were having a really nice time with each other. Can't wait to see how everything progresses.

Don't think this has been posted yet, but solid ratings for Episode 2 (8.73 million viewers 3.6/10 18-49 demo). HIMYM is performing better than BBT did last year in the same slot with much tougher competition (House). Definitely a great sign for the longevity of the show.

As for this episode, it was good but not great. I would agree that it is Ted's sensitivity that sets him apart as a great character that we are emotionally invested in on the show.

Anyone else feel like any girl Ted dates right now is a dead-end? I mean, we know that the mother was in the class that he made a total fool of himself in, so any girl he's going on a date with definitely isn't the mother because they definitely would have remembered him for something that happened so recently if they were in fact in the class. It's almost like Bays and Thomas have lost their option of tricking us into thinking someone is the mother (like they did with Stella). What does everyone else think about this?

Maybe I need to rewatch the episode, but wasn't the girl who nodded her head to professor having one F black? If Ted's wife is in fact black, their two kids didn't get any of their mother's genes because those are two of the whitest kids I've ever seen.

Solid episode... here's some of my favorite moments

-Right as Brad is leaving the booth, a smiling Marshall raises his arm to say goodbye but Brad is already gone. Looks like Marshall still has a slight man crush on his former brunch bro.

-The music for when Barney and Robin were in the bedroom proclaiming their feelings for each other I believe was the same song they played when Barney was going to tell Ted that he was in love with Robin but ended up running into Robin instead and having to tell her that he loves tacos. That was a great scene last season, and I'm glad they pulled that same song for this moment this season.

-Everything about Ted's teaching segment was hilarious... "Who invited their dad?" and "SILENCE!!!" stand out as the top moments. I love how the writers let us in on the joke before Ted finds out, allowing the viewer to really enjoy Ted burying himself up there.

Can't wait for next week. My friends are indeed back...

If Mother takes it, I might pass out. I'm hopeful that all the Emmy exposure and NPH hosting will lead to some solid ratings. The show is a half an hour earlier, and isn't paired with BBT anymore, so it definitely has a chance to prove itself as a solid anchor show on Monday nights, I hope it comes through.

All I can say is, I'm super stoked for the best comedy nod, and even more stoked for Piven being outed in the Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy category. JMO, but Jeremy Piven isn't even close to being in the same league as NPH. With hosting duties to bolster it, I say NPH finally gets what he deserves this year, an Emmy victory. As for HIMYM, I'd love to see it win, but my money is on 30 Rock. I personally don't care for the show, but the academy seems to be in love with it.

JD...where are you? Let's get a post on NPH hosting the Emmy's and HIMYM being up for best comedy for the first time ever! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for NPH, I think this is his year to finally take the supporting actor award home.
