thanks! I certainly hope he can keep succeeding. He seems to be one of the genuine good guys in college football.
not saying they will put it together, and it certainly won't be easy, but they have the talent and the coach. That's not enough to win, but certainly gives them a chance every year.
Butler is playing better, but in terms of depth and balance. If (a big if) G'Town puts it together, they will be much deeper team.
Not matter how you cut it, it is too early to say the season is in the balance...especially in the Big East. They have a month to figure it out before they hit their brutal conference schedule. In college especially, it takes time for a team to build chemistry and players to reach their peak.
I agree on not being impressed with G'Town. They struggled against Temple (winning 46-45), and haven't played any other decent team yet. This could be their coming out party tonight...maybe :)
The question is, were the wins because of the team he inherited and Jerry Jone's moves, or his success guiding a team?
Of course, the season is far from over and if the Cowboys can figure out how to play a strong offensive and defensive game together, then they have a good chance of making some noise. Doesn't mean Wade should stay...
Being a Cowboys fan, it has been painful to watch Wade do nothing the last few years. In a world of 'what have you done for me lately', how has Jerry Jones, of all people, not fired him yet? Not to mention, the offensive coordinator Jason Garrett was brought in to be groomed for the head coaching job 3 years ago and has more intelligence in his baby toe than Wade in his entire body (that's a lot of surface area). Nice article!
I'm a Big East guy, you don't have to convince me of the strength of the conference. However, Cincinnati has a huge opportunity against Florida, should be a great game. My complaint was with the pairings of the games, not the rankings, that's an entirely different conversation.
I struggled with who and what to write about. There are so many players that could have a huge impact on their club if they can step up and either improve or get playing time. I appreciate the optimism about Majok and UConn, but still don't think they will be at the top of the conference when all is said and done. They have the potential to be near the top, but right now, they are sitting somewhere near the higher middle zone trying to develop an identity.
