/Film : The Wolfman Is Getting A New Action Scene

Perhaps it was just the face that was handled in the post production phase and the rest was physical make-up in between shots... But the gradual development into the full fledged form would take shots of the fur coming in, the face developing into a wolf life form, the eyes changing, and the body shifting, correct? I suppose they could just do quick shots of various stages of make-up with a transforming CGI face, but they could have very well just replaced the entire actor with CGI, as well... I know he cited the "teeth" in the mouth as an example of one of the flaws the production studio had with the rough draft. Wasn't aware of the "stretching mouth," but that wouldn't surprise me, in all honesty. At any rate, here's my source: http://moviesblog.mtv.com/2008/07/27/cgi-wolf-man... Granted, the article is just under a year old and the state of it could have very well changed by now, but it's still something to keep in mind, regardless.

From my understanding, the actual transformation sequences will be CGI, which Baker opposed as he had the make-up present to do a physical rendition of it. He also didn't have much guidance with the studio heading the CGI with the transformations and did notice flaws with it upon visiting the company and viewing a rough draft. Whether that is still the case or not is unknown.

/Film : Trick R Treat Finally Gets a Release in October?

As glad as I am to see it'll finally see the "light of day" in some shape or form, I'm a bit let down that the executives at Warner Bros shelved it for two years just to simply "damn" it straight to DVD. This a horror film that essentially serves as a tribute to the holiday that contributed towards the foundation of the genre itself. It's a film that wants the viewer to actually enjoy it rather than be disgusted by it. And it "dares" to try something new in the endless proverbial "sea" of waste the horror industry has sadly sunk to. I find it rather pathetic that a film such as "Trick 'r Treat" can't garner a theatrical release, yet the next horribly crafted "Saw" film or another piss poor remake is just around the corner.

/Film : Joss Whedon on Dollhouse's Survival

The cancellation of Family Guy was a good thing though. Swift jabs aside, there's a sense of frustration with corporate executives when they conduct impulsively induced decisions strictly based upon the grounds of "numbers." I understand that the studio is running a business and it has to make decisions for the good of the company. Decisions worth a rather large sum of money, might I add. But the integrity and quality of the company needs to also be taken into consideration. With that said, corporate greed has repeatedly stamped on the notion of "quality" over and over again. It's an unfortunate "staple" to the industry. But I suppose it really comes down to the question, what would Fox really replace the series with? And what if the series went on to be quite successful and just had a bit of a rocky start? Case in point, NBC's The Office. The series seems fairly interesting and it'd be foolish to proverbially "pull the rug out" from underneath its continuance. I say give it another shot and see what transpires. If the ratings dwindle to a crippling number and the quality declines, then cancel it. But if both soar, then it's a success that could have been cut down prematurely.

You are correct. The faces will be completely CGI and will be handled by Framestore. If you are unaware of the company, one of the primary examples of their work is the "baby" in Children of Men (completely CGI). The CGI is expected to be finished around May or so, according to Jonze.

/Film : Where The Wild Things Are Trailer Attached to Monsters vs Aliens?

Very pleasant news to hear. I'd imagine that it's going to feel rather surreal and subliminal to see the monsters in motion combined with the scenery and what not, if the trailer is crafted in a correct manner. "Where the Wild Things Are" is definitely one of the top films on my radar for 2009.

It serves as a fairly acceptable representation of the novel, albeit streamlined and condensed due to time constraints. Can't say I'm happy about some of the "stylized" changes though. If you want the intended experience of Watchmen, read the graphic novel. The film really only has the time to give you the outer layer of a very complex narrative.

"Comic Books" are often given the "kiddy" label thanks to general mindset society has towards them. Though with the film adaptations of 300, V for Vendetta, and now Watchmen; I think the general public is beginning to catch on that the comic book industry isn't solely aimed at children.
