For those who put down the series...not only did I love it (hardcore reader and film buff) but...

My son, a freaking education-obsessed motorcycle racing, hunting and fishing old-school American boy, refused to read...until I brought home Harry Potter in 4th grade. He went from nearly being held back (from boredom), to becoming vocabulary and spelling champ, to Chemistry student of the year in College. This old lady would give Rowling a big ole sloppy kiss, if I could. :-)
