Zelda Dungeon : Skyward Sword Review by JuicieJ

That doesn't make a lot of sense to me though. Arguably, any problem with the game is an "annoyance", regardless of size, meaning also that regardless of size it is still a problem or flaw with the game. (flaw) -a mistake or fault in something that makes it useless or less effective -a mark or fault that spoils something and makes it less beautiful or perfect Less does not mean completely. Just because something is minor doesn't mean it isn't a flaw, it just means it's a minor flaw. The size of the flaw or how much someone worries about them depends on the flaw, the good qualities that may or may not counter it, and the individual.

Great review Jables. I can't say I agree with you on everything, especially the fact that you seem to be practically 100% happy with every aspect of the game, but I do agree that it was an amazing title. :)

Hm. I agree with JuicieJ that there was a LOT of content, but it's also true that it's more often than not basically spoonfed to you. If you don't blatantly ignore it, you can probably find it pretty easily. Not true for everything; there are exceptions. But it still was a running theme I noticed while playing. I don't necessarily mind that too much, because I do like it being easy to find the optional stuff, but I think that it would be nice if it was a little more challenging and demanding in that area. Bit more balance between the two extremes.

Zelda Dungeon : Comparing Skyward Sword: Core Gameplay

Says you, Jables. :P That's a semantics argument, one way or the other. There were things you felt could have been better about the game, and you choose to identify those as "personal complaints". A personal complaint, to me, implies something that is, purely, a matter of opinion, but I don't regard the things I consider flaws to be purely a product of my opinion... I feel they're a little more objective than that. Obviously others disagree, but that doesn't make them purely personal complaints.

I was referring to the Fire Sanctuary. I consider the mini-boss gauntlet in that one room (the Moblins on the bridge, the Stalfos and Bokoblins, and the Stalmaster and Cursed Bokoblins) to be a single encounter, since you have no means of leaving the battle once you've started, just wait before you enter the next chamber. So I considering it one boss encounter, or miniboss encounter.

Why? You hadn't put it there yet. I understand what you're saying, but Demise hadn't been defeated in the past yet either. While this would have created a loop of sorts, Link simply hadn't created that loop yet.

Again, Demise exists out of time. That breaks rules and would probably make it so that killing him in the past doesn't affect his presence in the future... because he existed in both times simultaneously.

Zelda Dungeon : Skyward Sword: What's Your Favorite Song?

I think my favorite songs are the miniboss themes, the normal one and the fire dungeon one. They're amazing battle tunes. I like the Isle of Songs song a lot too. It's hard for me to pick a favorite because the soundtrack is just so all-around amazing. For the record, that song plays outside the Goddess Statue as well.

I believe I understand what you're saying. You're talking about traveling on its own being a worthy experience. I can get you somewhat, but at the same time Zelda has always been a game about collection and discovery.... of progress. You progress by finding things and discovering things. That's generally a core trait of Zelda. Of course that doesn't mean they can't deviate, and largely they don't, but with regards to enjoying the traveling itself, I do think there are more ideal ways they could handle it. I find a hard time enjoying the traveling alone unless the scenery is awesome or just controller the character or vehicle is fun alone.

It's living up wonderfully. I'm only halfway through and I'm already dead certain it's my favorite game of the series and I've been wondering if it even dethrones my favorite game of all time (Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island). Doesn't mean I don't have gripes. Everything has flaws. :3

Zelda Dungeon : 5 Things That Could Go Wrong With Skyward Sword

For the record, a more skeptical look at the game isn't an invalid opinion. I think it was refreshing of Vanitas to look at the game that way even if I do disagree with him. The issue here is the timing, and that is my fault not his; he wrote this like months ago. Be pissed at the Axle, not the Vanitas.
