So I upgraded to 4.3.3_8J2_Custom_Restore.ipsw . I installed it on the phone with iTunes.
Now what? It cannot find any carriers. I followed iClarified. Phone info is now 4.3.3 / 6.15.
How do I unlock again?

I am on on 4.1 baseband 06.15.00

My phone technically is working. But the GPS can be really slow to respond.
I knowwhen I was forced to make the switch that I was stuck with the baseband 6.15. Is this still true?
Is there any update /upgrade I can make to my phone to improve functionality now?
Can I change my baseband?

YES GPS it does work perfectly -- I was very concerned about that too.
My only have two problems. My alarms ring an hour early. Like my alarm clock is in a different timezone - so I adjust accordingly. And when I sync my phone my address book will delete NEW contacts I've entered into the phone between syncs. So, I sync via I-tunes to my Google account and look for new names, enter them to my comps address book and re-sync then all is there.

All in all it is so much better to have use of my phone than not.

I have been trying for 2 days now on my MAC to unlock my
iPhone 3Gs
4.1 (down graded from 4.3)
5.16.01

I DID IT!!!!!!!!! I AM IN HEAVEN!
In plain English for all you not tech savvy like me...

1.) download redsn0w_mac_0.9.6rc8.zip
2.) download iPhone2,1_4.1_8B117_Restore.ipsw
3.) download TinyUmbrella-v4.30.03.pkg (in case you have issues it will get you back)

1.) open Redsn0w ((and follow directions))
2.) find the ipsw you downloaded above
3.) check boxes to install cydia and upgrade to 06.15

wait wait wait

4.) on your phone open cydia
search for ultasn0w and install

BAM!!! That is all -----it works!

And never ever ever ever restore again!!!

I have been trying for 2 days now on my MAC to unlock my
iPhone 3Gs

5.16.01

I have tried to use Pwnage Tool
to install
iPad1,1_3.2.2_7B500_Restore

It says 'wrong firmware bundle selected' every time I try.

What am I doing wrong????
Please can someone give me step by step instructions.
I am loosing my mind here!!

OK I have finally downgraded from 4.3 to 4.0.1

now how do I jailbeak / unlock

I tried Redsn0w.... but I get an error message in every version I installed (3.1.3 & 4.1)

says
ERROR:
A blocking root access, please remove al cashe files on mobile safari app

Any suggestions?
