Right now Apple wants to make it a violation of copyright to develop code to do this. If the Dev Team makes money (even from donations) for this they could be fined huge amounts of money and spend jail time. We have seen this where sites that do nothing but host search engines for torrents have been pulled down and the owners sent to jail when they only had ads to cover bandwidth and site maintenance. that having been said I do not think people should be asking for money they donated back. But I also feel it was wrong for certain members of the team to ask people for money to buy a 3G S with the intent to work on a jailbreak and then say they are not going to release it. Apple had to have the 3G S final specs (hardware) for Foxconn about eight months ago to get the phones read for distribution.
