Why would anyone want to play for England with Mr Magoo in charge??!! It really is a trugid, emotionless set up.

With the current England approach and mentality, we are never going to win anything and the players look like they couldn't give a monkey's most of the time.

I am delighted Greeno, and anyone else in claret and blue for that matter, is overlooked until we have a management (and team) that do the right thing & care

David Ngog is the only one of the 3 worth considering. Amazing so many on here think he's no better than Frank Nouble should look at the comparative stats -

Nouble 40 senior appearances, 2 goals (both lower league)
Ngog 79 senior appearnaces, 10 goals(9 for Liverpool, 1 PSG)

Ngog has scored freely for all French youth teams too. He could do very well in the Championship playing in front of our talented midfield

Away from West Ham specific issues for a moment, governance of football is an absolute mess. I have started a fans initiative to try to

•To bring about popular change & essential restructuring to football by uniting fans locally and globally through the Save-Football.com website.
•For fans everywhere to use the website to share, discuss and vote on football issues and matters of football governance.
•For Save-Football.com to become a powerful and visible action group that can hold football's governing bodies accountable to fans worldwide

Would really appreciate if you all would visit the site, register, vote and spread the word to anyone you know who cares about the state of football.

The website is www.save-football.com/

Thanks for your support

It is so obvious to see our team has become dis-jointed and ill disciplined with players going through the motions with no chase, no fight, no guts and no clue! Our last 2 managers have not been able to rectify this or inspire. What I want is someone who cares and won’t put up with lethargy and indiscipline and who isn't happy to muddle through with no game plan and the like. I want a manger to go in to the dressing room at half time if the players aren't performing and kick the effin plate of sandwiches around the room - to stop me doing it at home!!!

Maybe, just maybe Mr Allardyce is the man to do that. Back to basics and hard-nosed attention to detail just might be the medicine our beloved Club needs to get us out of this tailspin we're in and he will absolutely get my support if appointed.

I am in the Tom camp regarding Allardyce and think he summed it up perfectly. We just have to be in the glass half full mindset with regard to his appointment - assuming he is appointed. Can't understand how so many of us can continue to be so delusional about what we are and who we can realistically attract to manage us!

Play attractive football?! We haven't played attractive football - bar the odd exception - in years. Stop kidding ourselves. We should appoint Ancelloti as manager?! Why would he come? And if he wants to stay in London wouldn't QPR be a far more attractive proposition - Premier League and Italian owned!!

If that's really our line up today, we could be in for a long afternoon even against a very poor side we should be clobbering

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this very sad time. You have been nothing short of inspirational to all West Ham fans this past year and I am sure that your strength of character that has been so evident on the pitch will see you and your family through this difficult period.

And finally, I seem to remember that it took some of the greatest players in the history of the Premiership - Henry springs to mind - time to settle and adjust, even into the top teams, so let's not utterly dismiss and condemn to the scrapheap new talent like Reid and Berrera after just one game. Total over-reaction; they need time and fans support otherwise the mountain they need to climb will become that much higher.

I live in hope (and belief) of better days ahead and ultimately expect us to have a comfortable mid table finish with a much better and more effective team than the one that played yesterday.

(PS apologies for the length of the post and having to submit in multiple parts)

Writing Grant off after one game is totally riduculous. Yes it's true that he put out a team yesterday that resembled GFZ's team of last year but realistically what else was he going to do when Hitzlsperger and da Costa were injured during the week, one or two others are not yet match fit and he's still bedding down the newly signed players. Judge the man by the year end when he's really had time, in a competitive situation, to mould his own team and tactics.
Only 24 hours ago, most posters on this and other fan sites appeared happy with the business done during the off season bringing in a number of decent players (for a team of our standing) whilst holding on to our "best" players. Things may yet change before the end of the transfer window, but let's wait and see what develops first. (cont)
