Making big oil pay their own way would be capitalism, and even though the Constitution gives Congress the authority to hire "private armies and navies" the totalitarialist wet the pants at the thought of private armies being able to kick their azz out of office, reference Hugo Chavez and his nationalizing oil in Venezuela. So it would be "bad" for the oil companies to have to support themselves. Hey de facto, they pay less money in bribes than they would for quality security forces. Why pay more when you can bribe a political party to protest and launch investigations and of course screw the American taxpayer to pay for their international (non-American) operational security.

They will go the way of the do-do bird (pun intended) even if the "Self-Chosen One" throws some tax and spend dollars their way. Business 101, don't screw the customer. The average American gets really P-O'ed when they get their money screwed with, and that they will remember.

You MUST be a double wolf ( you probably chewed both arms off so that if "Katy" cam looking for a one armed dude she wouldn't find you; other wise you would have a hand to take care of "hard times".

Too late, what the the nutty "liberal / propaganda/ news business/journalist" professors don't teach (because they don't know) is that once you screw over a customer they won't come back.---ABC, who?

Political corruption like this has always been a factor in American politics; it’s intrinsic in the political party system. The problem for both the Dems and Repubs is that with the internet they can’t hide it anymore; not from citizens and not from foreign powers. Remember when the Russians offered to monitor our elections after the “Orange Revolution” in the Ukrain? Perhaps they know something and aren’t telling us, yet. Maybe a little “Orange Revolution” is in our future; oh and remember, the Brits are our friends to. Just a little dose of paranoia for the politicians; maybe they will wonder who else is watching. Sometimes I'm so bad; but I am so good at it.
