Nice; I can definitely see that here.

For meself, my initial impression from the cover art was of the city of Celestis (the Ori capitol from Stargate SG-1).

I would recommend rewatching. It's one of those things that really does get better with age. In fact, on its own merits as a cartoon, I'd personally say it's b- [TREASONOUS LIES ~Censored by Celestia]

The thing is, if the animation quality is anything like that strawberry shortpuff stuff, it has no business being on TV.

The first all-CG cartoon, Reboot, first aired in 1994. It was best loved for its clever writing and characters (and still has a cult following), but the animation was pretty decent for its time. That was nearly twenty years ago, and that strawberry thing is actually a lot worse in animation quality! How do they even do that?

I would point out the song, "The Moon Rises" by Ponyphonic. It's a brilliant villain piece based on Princess Luna's fall from grace, which could easily rival the finest in Disney's catalogue. The singer is a man, but he's got enough vocal talent that you can't possibly call him on that.

I'm probably the odd one out, but I'm more than anything a fan of the fandom.

I'm kind of a "fandom jumper." I enjoy being a fan of a lot of different things, and taking part in interesting and unusual fan communities. I was aware of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic and its following since its inception, but it wasn't until the second season that I started taking interest. At some point around the premier of the second season, the level of fan-created material simply exploded, with a massive increase in the amount of good art, original music, and clever writing the Bronies were creating. In spite of my original impressions, I really couldn't *not* join in on the fun.

There's so much raw talent, devotion, and creativity that is concentrated in this community, and Bronies aren't afraid to put everything they've got out there for the love of it. It's something I've seen many times before in other fandoms that reach a creative and enthusiastic audience, but Bronies go a lot further than most. The stuff we get up to is better than anything on TV.

What the heck was Chrysalis doing hiding on a shelf at Bed, Bath & Beyond? I don't think I have that receipt, it was like three years ago while passing through Arizona.

Eh. I guess she can stay, assuming her powers are somehow capable of mimicking my sleep schedule.

I'm just really disappointed that we haven't seen any Tori Spelling shipfiction yet. It's uncharacteristically slow for this fandom.
