Other than UNICEF (which likely has a scandal that I'm not aware of), has the UN ever done anything worth while? Oil for food scandal. Ridiculous rules of engagement that make UN troops ineffective when they are needed, Darfur fiasco, electing the Government of Sudan to be a watchdog for human rights, corrupt UN inspection programs, useless unenforced resolution after resolution against Saddam, sex scandals, and on and on and on...

It's time to wake up to reality: The U.N. scandals are not unfortunate accidents. They are not incidental blots on the reputation of an otherwise idealistic organization. The scandals are inherent in the very structure of the U.N. It could be said that the U.N. itself is the scandal.

Let's just add man-made global warming to the pile. I'll never understand why so many people put their faith in an organization with such a despicable track record.

I was shocked to see that the guy from UN security wasn't wearing a brown shirt. Gore does the same thing everywhere he goes. Conservatives play too nice considering the tactics the left uses.

I thought red ink was eliminated by the school system so that kids (and politicians) don't feel like they are failing. Billions, trillions... Will it start to seem silly when we have to talk in terms of quadrillions?
