I dont agree with the"Elite Pack" term. But thanks for the props, and this is meant to be a happy medium, between CKs "best of the best blog pack" and Black Claws "Everyone is equal" evebloggers.com - I think that it has real potential, and yes sounds really badass :P

Any special talents(coding, design, spelling?:P) you have would be a great use. The whole point of this project is that it flows with the community, it can expand and (hopefully not) shrink to fit the needs of the community. It would indeed be a lot of work, but the rewards would be well worth it.

I dont know if you are any better, but if this project is going anywhere, im going to learn, or have to find someone who knows some web programming o help out.

Where is it documented that CCP knew about these issues before hand? I admit I haven't read all the info on this, so maybe I missed this. I havnt seen anything from CCP or otherwise that says that CCP knew about these issues before hand. I dont ever remember hearing about CCP encountering these issues on the test server either(prior to launch). The truth is, its frustrating, but just because this bug is as big and bad as it is does not mean that they knew about it and ignored it. Its no secret that the test server cannot accurately simulate how things will work on the production server.

No kidding. Maybe the structure is as simple as the code is not uploading to some of the system nodes as well as it should so parts of it are corrupted. I know that seems simple, but it would explain why some systems are fine an others arent.

Harsh Words, but I shouldn't be surprised coming from a Ushra'Khan member. You have good reason to be upset by this. But really, besides a 100% working expansion, what could you expect? CCP literally rewrote the Sov Mechanics and tbh they could have pushed off Dominion until now, and it would still have issues. Its the nature of the beast, software has bugs and some things dont show up in tests. I do not subscribe to the beliefs that CCP would have released these Sov changes without thinking they were done. They did test, and they did trials. Things got missed, human error was made. They are taking steps to resolve the problem(and to say they aren't is ridiculous). As it stands today. Nullsec warfare has bugs, GTFOI :P ... and thats the way it was...

You have some really great points. I have a hard time just dropping the Vent/Ts for ISK completely, But then maybe it is needed. The reason I can afford to offer Web Hosting for ISk is because the profit margin is a lot higher in web hosting, where by contrast in voice hosting it is very very small(im talking 5-10c per slot).

Here is an Idea, If they did release it as an expansion to EVE on the PC. Maybe they would have it require a Xbox usb controller to operate. who knows. Great post mate. Always Fun debating a friend :)

Thats a Cop out :P Seriously though, Think of it as and extension of EVE onto the console market. I know there were a lot of maybes in my comment, but you really cant be so blind as to the possible benefits this could have on the EVE PC MMO. True you may not be able to do the FPS, but you can still interact with the FPS, you said you don't like FPS's anyways. So this way you can play EVE and let the FPS players enjoy EVE in a creative way, and STILL help you defeat your enemies in the "real" EVE Game. Its Win Win in my opinion. People that don't enjoy FPSs wont play it, but they still gain the benefits of being to utilize the real live players in the FPS to do their dirty work so to speak.

This is complete speculation, but it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to think that WiS (Walking in Stations) could be DUST as an expansion to the EVE Game. Now they have said many many times that combat will not be part of WiS, but maybe that has changed, or maybe WiS is how DUST will Interact with EVE.... Who knows. But the point is, I dont see how this hurts EVE. True this may not be available to those who do not like or have consoles, but you cant deny that it adds a whole new level to the game. Being able to contract DUST merc corporation to assault a planet is sweet "awesome sauce". Think of it this way, they were gonna introduce planetary interaction at some point anyways, your were always gonna be able to have the opportunity to try and take over planets. Now instead of doing hiring AI mercs and trusting some lame computer code to get it done for you, You can hire real people with real plans to take the planet, and if you happen to have a console you can take part in the action too. True if you done have a console you miss out on the FPS sweetness, but you still gain the benefits of commanding the mercs and taking control of planets. I dont know if I explained myself well, but thats my two sense. I also posted on my blog here, http://connect.tweveit.com/keldar/blog/2009/dust-...

The Wandering Druid of Tranquility : GameScribe closes down, rebrands itself, say hello to Tweveit

Well, you have a right to be mad. But most hosts do not go belly up and most websites do not have to find a new host in a few days time. I am sure you can't understand the amount of time it takes to backup, transfer and get a currently live site working on a new server. It almost always ends badly. If I must be quite honest, Nobody was donating, clicking on ads, or anything of the sort. The semi-dedicated server Gamescribe was on cost 78.00$ a month... All out of my own pocket. Which i was happy to pay. But We are mid month now and I ALREADY paid the 78.00 for this month. Any other host I found to take the GameScirbe site would have cost me between 50-70$ a month, but most required 3 months advanced payment. Hosting for a service like gamescribe costs big $$ compaired to personal hosting. To be honest , I did and do not have that kind of money. I make 9.00$ per hour and could barely afford the 78.00 server, and now you expect me to pay for 3 months in advance after already paying the 78 for this month? Im sorry but I couldnt do it. The reason the new site is empty is because its new. People are signing up and getting things set up. You are more than welcome to sign up and email me and ill happily restore you old content. I cant plan for everything, even the best laid plans have faults.. I am sorry about your teeth :)
