A ton of explosions, fighting for human survival, and Christian Bale. Who care about plot or critics. This is at the top of my summer movie list.

Okay, I had a feeling you were talking about Cuba, but the far-right thing threw me off.
Anyway, this was an extremely touching story, just reading the small bit you wrote moved me to tears. I hope to see this film in theaters someday.

I always liked Simon. I was sort of the odd man out in grade school, and high school, and in college most people like him just because he's the only one who's not obviously insane, but I've always liked him. I mean, I agree, this man has money riding on the winner of this contest. He has a reputation to uphold as well as a producer. If anyone has a right to be "cruel" and "mean" to these people, it's him.

Dude, very, very few conservatives like McCain. Don't use him as an example. And considering O's narrow margin of victory, he didn't win the out of college vote by much.

Because his money is all overseas, so it doesn't affect him. He wants everyone else to pay for it.

That's a great question. Why is a gay man judging a beauty contest? If it's really a beauty contest, shouldn't the judges all be straight men?

I know. It just bugs me that they try to pitch themselves as "Academics" and "Intellectuals" but they can't do the simple research and citing my high school history teacher drilled into my head. Then they go off calling Cornell educated Ann Coulter an idiot and a bigot despite her impressive array of citations. From their University studies! Maybe it I'm only aware of this because my parents had the sense to send me to a private school?

You know what I recently learned in my Psychology for the study of Politics class? Despite college campuses' liberal bias, on average conservatives are better educated than liberals. More of us have gone to, and completed college. More of them have dropped out of high school. *sigh* if only those stats applied to the Ivy's.

Just FYI, Fascism is when the government takes over the means of production, ie, private industry. What Obama is doing is fascism. But when you say you're anti-fascist, I can only assume you mean it in the way that Conservatives are Fascist. Nothing could be further from the truth. We support free enterprise and would love nothing more than for the government to mind it's own business and go back to doing its job, protecting the USA from outside threats by any means necessary. Essentially, we're the anti-fascists.
