The first step has already happened, through federal funds going to the state insurance pools, some of which fund abortions. Both sides realized this even before the original bill was even passed; it was one more of the bill's many abominations.

There are really two answers: For the politicians and elites, the answer is "both of the above." For the average Democrat American citizen/voter, the answer is, like with most issues, they let their emotions trump logic and critical thinking. Because guns are dangerous and are used in really ugly crimes and wars, they have bad emotional feelings about guns and are very uncomfortable with the idea of *anyone* having one, and they think if we could just make laws against them and ban them, problem solved.

Of course I did! It doesn't sound like you did though! The link said that version of the bill wasn't even passed, and second of all, the wording is NOT a provision to microchip anyone. It's saying that if a person gets a device, including implanted ones like pacemakers, it goes into a registry. That's a far cry from "a provision to RFID/micro chip all Americans" as you claimed.

Not true about the microchipping. I hate the Obamacare bill as much as anyone, but this rumor is false. http://www.snopes.com/politics/medical/microchip....

We don't do ourselves any favors by spreading misinformation. There's enough TRUE crap in the bill to make our case!

Thank you for explaining it so well--I was going to make an explanatory post myself but now I don't have to! :o)

I am a non-Catholic NFP user and it really irritates me when NFP is confused with or called the rhythm method. Such misinformation causes people to assume that NFP doesn't work well (as the very misleading WebMD link says, only 75-87% accurate, but NFP is much better than that) and will make you have 15 kids. Wrong! NFP is healthy, educational, free, and you never have to wonder if your hormonal contraceptives are preventing the implantation of embryos.

Sadly I don't think it's likely, because the whole country has been brainwashed for 60 years and denied any kind of real information about the outside world. That kind of uninterrupted propaganda has deep effects on people. They can be starving and living in a country that's a prison, but still worship "Dear Leader" and hate America and S. Korea, blaming the free countries for their problems rather than their dictator and his brutal regime.

I hope I am wrong about their liberation, but I think any hopes of a free(er) NK will probably come to as much fruition as any hopes about the results of the so-called Arab Spring.

This is true. However, I have no hope that we will put a stop to it, because the majority of Americans fit into one of the following categories:
1. don't know about it (thanks to both the media and American apathy towards finding out the truth on their own)
2. don't care, especially if they are getting their own government goodies (after all, all this corruption is just on "the rich's" dime and no skin off their own nose)

Get back to the Constitution and most of this will be fixed. Which is exactly why the vast majority of federal politicians don't want to get back to the Constitution.

The contempt for the rule of law that we see in the younger generation--the one that elected Obama, who, no surprise, has utter contempt for the rule of law himself--is frightening.
