I don't remember the reporter that broke the Rep. Lee (republican) story asked to explain himself in to the press the way Breitbart has had to validate the newsworthiness of the story. When Republicans are caught doing something stupid who reporter is is not important but as with Trump and Breitbart the get grilled for asking a question or reporting a story against the Democrats as if to say "How are you to Question US" but everybody else is fare game. MSM will protect their side every time so watchout. The MSM should be on trial why did we not know about John Edwards until after he failed to con the American people.

Big Journalism : 2012 Preview: Who Will Fact-Check the Corrupt MSM's Cherished PolitiFact?

Good for you Sybill taking it on yourself and pushing the issue. I think we need more people like you individuals everywhere must call out lies and corruption because the sheer volume of the Lies, Corruption and Con Jobs accelerated like a rocket since Jan 2009 Republicans in congress have there hands full and can only focus on the biggest frauds and we all know the MSM will do more to hide this or attack anyone who uncovers the truth. Personally I was so disgusted by a story about Senator Feinstein I also took it upon my self to research it and compiled news stories along with info. I found that was public info that together proved her and her husband made a profit of more then $100 million in less then a year by pushing a government contract of $36billion to her husbands company. I had documents and dates showing her husband buying millions of shares in a single transaction just before they were awarded the contract, not just luck. But I set this package to many news outlets even Republican Lawmakers and nobody cared, I was sure $100million would get someones attention but nothing. It's disheartening but we must keep on these pack of thieves.

Big Government : Bush Was Not a Conservative

I agree with all that, except that Most Conservatives know that it starts at home and importance of keeping family's strong. for most conservatives Spending is the #1issue right NOW and many ask why was it not when GWB was spending. " Christian conservatives still do not realize that the biggest problem we have now is catastrophic overspending and the expansion of government. " Spending under Bush2 was high but relative to what is now is a different story so you can't blame Conservatives for not sounding the spending alarm under Bush2 if you think back to most of the 8years under Bush the economy was much better despite what we are told now the financial crisis did not begin until his last year up to that point most people where better off financially as was the government we didn't have a new record deficit every month of over $200billion so the urgency was not there yet Obama has changed all that and we have been at 'Emergency" status since his inauguration and it has been one crisis after the next so I say it is all relative.

" being a conservative – unless the term is stripped of any meaning and conservatives no " the author is limiting the meaning by defining a person Conservative or no based solely on 1 criteria, Wrong!! I would agree that GWB was not "Fiscally Conservative" and yes his Dad was a progressive but Bush2 was not a progressive he was a good Christian Conservative and history will vindicate him more so then already has been. Dan Mitchell is a great economist but may not understand what it means to be a true Conservative. There is a lot more to it then just Spending and debt, although that is an important part of it. A Conservative does not look at a graph and infer everything from it, Conservative use common sense and know analyze all the pertinent information taking to account all circumstance of the spending the purpose, the amount, the implications of spending that money versus not doing anything and consider all possible options before deciding on best way forward. To look at a graph then say "This proves once and for all Bush2 was not a Conservative is something MSNBC's Maddow would say.

Big Government : Poll Confirms America's Entitlement Culture...Even Among Tea Partiers

This was a promise made by our government and people expect the government to meet all obligations especially with Social Security since people have been paying into it their entire working life and many plan their retirement based on that promise. Conservatives generally acknowledge that the gov. owes these people and do not want a gov that does not pay its obligations and can not be trusted. Conservatives did not create social security but feel obligated to fulfill it at the same time we Recognize this is a bad set up and needs to be changed for new people in the job market like investing part of the deducted amount as they wish like 401k

There is another factor that is an important distinction for a Conservative that may not be for a liberal mind. The fact that Social Security is essentially a promise we made to a group of people and those people trusted in that promise and agreed to start funding SS today based on our Collective promise to take care of them later. For me this is always an assumed starting point at the beginning of any SS debate, that now we are talking about a fund that people paid out of their salaries for their entire working life so some of those people are now 65+ years old and rely on SS as their only income. So as most conservatives we take a promise like that seriously and want to make sure everyone's interest is considered and treated fair. 4 of 4

If someone said ok we need to fix this and we propose a significant cut to Social Security to address our growing debt. I like many would say NO because why would you start with SS when we know for a fact there are hundreds if not thousands of other more wasteful spending and we need to start there now if 2 years from now people have seen government spending has been slashed in a meaningful way and people saw serous cutting and are convinced much of the nonsense spending programs have been eliminated but more cuts are needed then I would agree to the poll but that is just one reason many said NO to SS cuts.3 of 4

I can tell you why I would also have said no to that poll question "cut social security significantly to reduce deficit" I am a Conservative and love the Tea Party movement and would have agreed with most that attending any Tea Party rallies. I would have answered NO given that poll but not for the reason you credit with motivating all respondents that is "Selfish or greed” First the question gives no alternatives or additional explanations to answer such an important issue to address a huge looming disaster that is the National Debt. Given everything going on with our government the amount of debt and worse the staggering rate of spending not only is it Dangerously high amount of debt whets worse is the acceleration rate it is currently growing by leaps and bounds every month we set a new record for highest monthly deficits caused by huge spending levels that continue to get bigger to the point where Obama's February deficit was larger in one month that any 12 months of Bush administration. 2 of 4 pgs

Mr. Schaeffer, don't pat yourself on the back just yet. Aside from the problem with the poll question itself, I disagree with your analyses and conclusion for a start you jump to a narrow conclusion very quickly and disregard all of the many other factors that influence a decision especially being limited to answer just "yes or no" On a important topic with many complex issues that affect every person differently many who are polled will have a personal connection to their immediate life or a close family member a grandmother or father currently receiving benefits. It seems to me you went into this expecting a certain result based on your personal opinion and found a poll result that appear to support your preconceived notion that Tea party people are no more principled than any other group of people this issue tested your theory that people are selfish by nature and Tea party people where no better. Once they were asked if they are willing to give up something that may cost them personally they would say not me or mine find it somewhere else. Confirming nobody will agree to anything directly affecting them, even though they say "We want small government". 1 of 4 pages

Big Journalism : Credit Where It's Due: A Tale of Three Journalists' Reactions

True that! Liberals have a knack for avoiding anyone that does not agree with them. It is truly a phenomenon how their circle's are very strictly vetted so that different opinions do not penetrate. They keep their circle of people small and tightly controlled to ensure they agree on issues 100% or you never get in. If you understand this you can understand how Obama can make decisions so obviously counter to most. You know like wanting to "energy prices to necessarily increase" makes sense to everyone in his circle's.

I just don't get it Dana why are you always trying to hold these phonies and opportunists as honest journalist like yourself. I realize you are on CNN and that is great but do not diminish your credibility by finding clips here and there that are not blatantly bias and tell us we need to give them credit for hiding their agenda in few specific stories. Journalist will be judged by their overall body of work not aberrations, like when you tried selling the idea that Anderson Cooper is fair. Really you believe Cooper and Stephanopoulos are generally unbiased reporters. Why do you feel this need to have these dishonest people accept you. You are far better than them and do just fine without being in the "inner circle" of MSM. Their days are numbered your future is bright ask Keith Olbermann.

While many PC rules have been discredited as a harmful barrier to free speech and Since 2009 a growing number of people no longer allow "Not being PC" to stop them from taking actions or hiding their Political positions people see the destruction of PC all around them and in many cases have lead to irrational and deadly policies like in the case "Hasan" who killed 13 people not to mention devastated the lives of the Dozens of family members who will never be the same, This was quickly swept away and story was buried, 1 of 3 part

WHY WHO HOW do these things happen. Unfortunately many times those questions lead back to someone name Silberstein and so nobody wants to go there or they will be labeled an anti-Semitic. This PC rule or whatever is a barrier to fixing our nation’s problems, but even here if anyone even dares to hint that maybe Israel (the country) is responsible for some of the problems in ME you immediately get pummeled does not matter what your point is. I try to be a good Christian and love everybody many of my favorite conservatives are Jewish but many of the left wing agenda problems lead back to a pattern of powerful people that you would have to be blind not to notice. 2 of 3

Michael Savage said recently while talking to a fellow Jewish person he can list the top 50 powerful and influential people and listed several names berg, stein anyway his point was that these people maybe Jewish but they are not innocent. As a Jew I would be the first to go after anyone doing harm to the US especially if they were Jewish because they give all Jews a bad name. It is still off limits taboo is still as strong as ever and we should address it. The only distinction that matters to me is GOOD or EVILE in you are doing GOOD I am with you period, and same if someone is doing EVILE I will challenge them every chance I get this is the only thing that I discriminate on no matter pummel away. 3 of 3 sorry posted backward

Excellent article this is a very important point that does not get discussed enough, The power of MSM has been the driving force to shape our current culture for decades nobody noticed still many do not see the destruction to our society it has caused that is all MSM news, TV, magazines newspapers have been "pushing the boundary" unchecked by Gov. of course to the point where they pushed us now to edge of ending the American way of life. Thank GOD many finally woke up but not enough yet. Good news patriots look at how quickly we are changing now that people are paying attention. How much we have done since 2008 is remarkable think how different our society as whole is how we are saying and doing things just 3years ago people never dared to cross the PC rules we have shattered them and it is only just beginning, Obama is the best thing to happen to this country he lifted the Vail and we saw read. This country is coming out of a dark abyss and after 2012 USA will be stronger, wealthier then ever before we have to get through the final 2 years of Carter II then we will see Reagan's America part 2 Better then ever. God bless you all!
