There's not too many things cuter than a baby giraffe! The fun fact about a giraffe birth is that the poor thing has to come into the world with a 6-foot drop, as his mother drops him to the ground from her womb. Next we'll be having a baby rhino, as one of Indy's white rhinos is pregnant.

I'm glad to hear this. I knew, when I first heard about this, that it was a pure accident and nothing more. I've been to the Calgary Zoo and it's a great zoo. The zookeepers there are very dedicated to the animals.

This great zoo has had so much success with breeding elephants that you'd think they would take it for granted. But no, they are still very grateful for another adorable elephant calf, and so they should. This is but one reason this zoo is one of my favorites.

With barely more than 2,000 of these ducks left on the planet, this truly IS a rare treat! This is the kind of thing we try to encourage travelers and other zoo visitors to enjoy when visiting a great zoo, like Louisville. This truly is a beautiful zoo, with many gorgeous exhibits to see and a great collection of animals.

My coauthor (of our book, America's Best Zoos) was just out there and he speaks highly of the Dickerson Park Zoo. Springfield residents should be proud of, and grateful for, their fine zoo.

This sounds like a terrific improvement! This is one of those things that makes this zoo so great! It's already a top-notch zoo, with great exhibits like the Great Northwest (one of the nation's very best zoo exhibits), and yet they keep improving things. Oregonians should be proud of, and appreciate, their fine zoo.
