I fractured my pelvis and developed osteoarthritis at a very young age. I've had people make strange comments about me being out of work, those "I wish I could sit around at home all day.." type of comments. It's disgusting !

I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. It took me a long time to find the right balance of pain medications, light exercise, and nutrition. When I look back on things, I'm very grateful. Chronic pain is a truly awful thing. Remember that peace of mind also means a lot to dealing with pain.

Don't put any thought to it, worrying about disability. I've had those thoughts too. I also wish I could work very badly, I've found a lot of things to do at home :) Also, I'm a college student... someday I'm going to work in consulting for historical and sociological data. You know, I don't believe those "Work at home" tv commercials that promise hundreds of thousands of dollars... but there is quite a bit of real work you can do from the computer at home!

Anyway, life can still be beautiful and fulfilling even when on disability :)
I wish you all the best!

I'm also a Southern California resident, I grew up in the Coachella Valley... with my backyard being Date Palm groves. Produce is the heart and soul of Southern California and I'm devastated to see so many crops destroyed already. California is an ideal state for growing produce, in my own backyard I grow as many fruits and veggies as possible! The current city that I live in grows apples, peaches, oranges, and so on...

It is true, closing California crops will only drive up the cost of produce even further. :/
If there are any other Californians here; please support local produce stands! Please, everyone.. sign the petition!

That website has amazing info, thanks for the suggestion! I nearly choked when I read this

"The federal government incurred a deficit of close to $800 billion for the first seven months of fiscal year 2009, CBO estimates—$646 billion more than the deficit recorded through April 2008."

Wow. Tonight on Fox News Bill O'Reilly had a guest who said "Obama is the biggest deficit spender in the history of the world"
I found this to be very profound. I wish there were further information out there to back this up with, does anyone know where to find statistics or the best resources? I'd love to write about this but I'm usually paranoid if I cannot find valid resources to back stuff up!
With that said, I'm off to search the internet for information and sources on this!

Wow! That's a very good idea, it's very hard to keep track of everything going on these days. I think I'll start keeping a list as well. :)

It's the difference between "book knowledge" and common sense. Some people follow direction but do not have understanding for the real world. Or choose not to apply knowledge. Sometimes people have the intellect but do not know what to do with it.

What I find to be very sad is when people just choose to stop reading, to stop asking questions, and to let life pass around them without taking hold of it. Human behavior is very fascinating to me. :)

Thank you for sharing the insight :)
