The civilized nations of the world should make a new category of crime along the lines of: "Crime against humanity". Things like the sex slave trade would fall under this category. If you're found guilty of this type of crime we simply kill you, since its obvious that you no longer want to be part of a civilized society. There are 7 billion people on Earth; we can afford to lose the 5 million or so who ruin it for everyone.

What a freaking baby. If you live in part of the country where it rains all year long, then you are going to have wet, muddy, nasty fields. I wonder if parents in North Dakota complain about snow on the field or parents in Florida complaining about the grass being hot. The weather here sucks, get used to it or leave. I chose the ladder and will be out of here in two weeks.

But again, do you think that it is the duty of the government or insurance company to pay for what is, in essence, an elective surgery in most cases? I'm not going to fight the pro-choice/pro-life fight, but I don't want to pay for it.

I've honestly given this quite a bit of thought and I believe that if the government provides 50% or more of a families income then they should have some say in their choices. I would be for mandatory depo shots for anyone on welfare. Make it real simple, use the monthly shot. You come in to pick up your check and get a shot, one stop; no fuss. But I know people will go nuts over preventing baby mommas to adding another check... I mean child to their family.

So you would be against having priority for people who need kidney transplants due to a genetic defect over those who destroyed their organs through a lifetime of abuse? So you don't believe in any kind of personal responsibility for anyone? Don't worry about taking care of yourself or your family, the government will pick up the slack.

"And yet would you deny a woman maternity care even if she should not have gotten pregnant" No, I would grant the child via the mother maternity care because it is not the fault of the child that his/her mother is irresponsible. But that is often the important distinction between the view of the pro-choice/pro-life groups. Pro-Choice is mother mother mother. Pro-Life is child child child. I tend to lean on the side of the innocent child who I'm sure would prefer not to be eradicated from reality.

Exactly, Eichler. I detest abortion but have long ago given up the notion of controlling someone else. That being said, I hate the idea that we should be forced to pay for someone's bad choices. And before the pro-choice crowd starts with the "what if she was raped" or "what if her life is in jeopardy" crap. Please show me some statistics on what percentage of actual abortions fall into those categories.

"...so it is like any other medically necessary procedure." How is an abortion a medically necessary procedure? Unless the life of the mother is in jeopardy I would consider an abortion an "elective" procedure for the convenience of the woman. I don't blame people for their mistakes, but I'm very against paying for them.

The thing I find really sad is the people on here claiming that the man is a hypocrite for being a gay conservative. I know most of the left wing may find this crazy, but you can be conservative without agreeing with EVERYTHING that the Republicans believe in. This may be a hard concept since most liberals seem to simply fall in line with exactly what their overlords tell them, no room for free thought in the Democratic Party.

I happen to be for Gay Marriage but also quite conservative when it comes to most other issues. Perhaps the Sheriff is the same.

If this guy had been pulled over by Tulalip Police he would have most likely ended up with a slap on the wrist. Fleeing back to the Tribe was probably his plan. I worked Loss Prevention on the Reservation and saw first hand how shady Tulalip PD is. There were a few good officers, but chances are if you saw a couple of Native officers coming in, then the thieves would never see the inside of a court room.
