"Moderate Muslims" are those Muslims who have thrown over many -- if not most -- of the central tenets of the Islam of the Qur'an. Islam was born of violence and conquest of Christendom. The Western European Crusaders were engaging in a defensive gambit after 300 years of Muslim conquest of Christian lands. The gambit failed, and Islam continued its conquests, overthrowing the last bastion of the Eastern Roman Empire (Byzantium), Constantinople, in 1453 and re-naming it Istanbul. It got to the out-skirts of Vienna in the 1680s before it was turned back and contained till WWI when it was overthrown -- but only till shortly after WWII. Since WWII, Islam has reasserted itself via the Saudis financing sunni wahabism and Iranian oil financing 12th-imam shia Islam.

All too predictably, several posters have done a "yeah, but" directed against Roman Catholicism -- the same faith that turned back Islam from taking over Western Europe from AD 1000 to 1700. Rogue priests in the U.S. and Canada are probably due to American and Canadian bishops and the seminaries they administered relaxing the standards for the priesthood. As a result, hundreds of sexual deviants who had a thing mainly for young men and boys were let into the RC priesthood. They are now paying the price for this relaxation, as they try to exercise greater vigilance on who is ordained.

Take note: Islamic terrorism in the U.S. and Canada was mainly imported via immigration, but rogue priests were not immigrant Roman Catholics. Given a choice, let's have a lot more Roman Catholic or other Christian immigrants from Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, and South America!
