Thought it was a cr@p game of football, but in a way, that suited us. We won, kept a clean sheet, away from home against a team who will be in the playoffs at the end of the season.

Defence were solid, but I feel we missed a holding midfielder today. Someone like Diop, who gives that extra protection to the backline. Found Collison and Vaz Te frustrating. Don't know what it is about VT but he always looks so clumsy on the ball. Never really made an impact, and was our worst player today.

Maynard was unlucky with his chances. He is still new to the team, but he looks lively, I feel sorry for him a little bit as he is not suited to play the lone front man. It would be interesting to see him pplay up top with Cole, especially when Taylor comes back to add width, Taylor left, Faubert right.....

Overall, happy with the performance and result, and we go into to winnable home games unbeaten in 4 and scoring some goals.

Agree re: Nolan. Has come in for some stick, but today he showed why he is captain, and why he is one of the first names on the team sheet.

Like most, can't agree about Faye, he was immense, last ditch tackles, blocking, won most of his headers.....he was my star man!!

Good read so far Iain, very interesting. I do have to question why the chairmen would sign a striker, thinking he wouldn't do as well as they hoped..... if they didn't think Ba was gonna do well, why bother?

I'm also staggered at the amounts of money being quoted for agents and players.

I would imagine that it's already common knowledge in the football world, when you have sleazy agents involved, and touting their players around.

I must admit, I feared the worst when we lost Nolan on Saturday, however, the players all stood up to be counted, worked their socks off, and deserved the win. Noble, like many have already mentioned, was simply outstanding. He took the game by the scruff of the neck, was behind every attack, yet also got back to defend. His passing was excellent, his awareness top notch, and tackling (for once) perfectly timed. Faubert was awesome, and I love it when he is fired up, but his problem is that he is inconsistent. I saw him against Forest the other week, and he was awful! So if he can get some consistency in his play, he would be a top player. Also thought Cole, Reid and McCartney were particularly good.

Hopefully, this will give us a kick start, and help us finish the season strongly. We need to carry on battering teams, and playing with no fear like Saturday.

I think that would be our strongest team on paper, if all players were on equal form and confidence, however, I wouldn't be dropping Reid at the moment. Barring Ipswich where everyone was sh!t, Reid has done well since he come back in the side, and being dropped after scoring the winner against your bitter rivals wouldn't help him.
