PS,any excuse that this is for national security is pure BS.ALL our CRITICAL military and government systems run on a redundant system,both the civilian internet and a nationwide dedicated grid that is buried between 48 an 52 inches underground with a foot of concrete over the pipe carrying the fiber optic cables.I know this because in the mid 80's I worked for a company that was one of the contractors on this project.The only reason as stated in my last post to shut down the public internet would be to stifle political dissent,not for any national security reason.

What the anal orifices in congress and in the white house do not realize is the simple fact that the little anal orifice occupying the white house CANNOT shut down the internet for ANY reason without shutting down the following,our power grid,water distribution systems,banking services,hospital information sharing services,air traffic corridor control centers ( hand off of air traffic control from one ATC to another ),wall street,a great many,if not most businesses,traffic lights.The list of internet dependency goes on and on.If he were to be given and exercise this power and shut down the country to stifle opposition to his arrogant policies he would not have to worry about getting reelected in 2012 because the second American revolution would begin the very next day.and the little o would be a bad memory.Like most politicians these people have not thought through the implications of their policies and thoughtless legislation.
