I love the people that complain about taxes while also complaining that our police department is too underfunded to go after drunk drivers, etc. Where do they think money comes from?

I wasn't even going to respond to your post because it is filled with non-sequitor arguments. But, alas, I am curious about your concern for protection children. Wouldn't you agree that our poor healthcare system and growing poverty provides an exponentially larger problem from children than if they have two loving gay parents? I think we need to put this in perspective. Oh, and your statistics are complete hogwash.

This story breaks my heart. I don't know how anyone could do that to someone, let alone their own family. But a huge thumbs up for quick, efficient, and dedicated police work and investigation. Whether or not he resists arrest, I know that justice will be served. Thank you detectives for all your hard work to make our community safe from people like this!

I take full responsibility and accountability for my decisions and statement. I have spent years studying the subject and yes, I believe that all administrations have played an integral role. In my opinion, it is almost like a synergistic reaction with each administration adding small components that has created the "whole" we have today. So although some have played a larger role than others, all administrations are still accountable. Do you mind me asking what exactly are you referring to? What are you implying when you say "decline of 40 years of neoliberal policy" and what presidential administrations do you think are free from blame?

And it only gets more difficult when the government's goal is to have more than half the population hold degrees in the next handful of years. It gets difficult because even for entry level jobs, high competition and a high number of graduating students means that people with degrees get hired over people without degrees. The irony is that pretty soon, it is going to be more commonplace for people working at McDonalds to have bachelors degrees than just high school diplomas. So, in a way, such strong competition even for low-paying jobs reinforces the need to get a degree.

Wow. Stereotype much? I am a recent graduate in Political Science/Economics, graduated Summa cum Laude, did internships, worked abroad, etc. I cannot find a job in the states and many of my peers are going back abroad to find work. We used student loans and followed our life's passions thoughtfully. We are all underemployed or unemployed no matter how qualified and how successful we were in school. Unfortunately for your small viewpoint, all of us graduates with what you refer to as "useless degrees" are not unintelligent, crazed party goers. The problem is not us. It is our economy. And no, our economy is not just Obama's fault. Our economy is the product of 40 years of neoliberal policy, all presidential administrations from the late 70s to now are to blame.
