1) You guys, it looks like the CU Boulder Ralphie logo. If you want to debate whether that logo looks like a "buffalo" or not that's fine, but you might risk CU spending another $5 million on a logo re-design campaign (during which they'll simply flip the colors and call it good).

2) It's nice to see CU spending student fee money on something tangible for students to enjoy. It might be overpriced (I have no idea), but I would rather have an overpriced pool that I could use rather an overpriced artistic atrium in a building (a waste of space and money on a campus already tight on both) or something. I personally like it.

I hadn't heard anything about that - I'll have to look it up. I do know that it only covers the search and rescue costs, not any medical and.or medical transport costs.

I'm sorry, I had no idea what your background was. You are likely more knowledgeable than me then. I - personally - didn't know *why* hiking/riding on muddy trails was such a big deal until a couple of years ago. I just thought I would share just in case anyone else was in the same position I had been in (not knowing the reason why, that is). No need to jump all over me for it.

While you and I might not mind walking in the mud, this causes damage to the trails. Deep footprints and tracks from bikes tires make ruts and damage the trail. Once a trail is damaged, it deteriorates even if nobody hikes/rides it anymore, with ruts acting like channels that send water down the trail, making it worse and worse. The trails in Boulder aren't often muddy - I don't think it will kill anyone to stay off a muddy trail for a day or so every once in a while.

I think it's a little sad that citizens will come out in full force to voice their opinion about an art piece, but not about other issues that are - arguably - more important in the long term.

You know what would be a good idea and a nice compromise? Instead of having pedestrian-activated-crosswalks that activate instantly when the button is pushed, Boulder should replace them with a version that is timed to match the traffic lights. If a pedestrian pushes a button, they have to wait until the red light part of the cycle before the flashing lights go off for them to cross. This would solve the problem of A) a light just turning green, then traffic having to immediately stop for a pedestrian, B) having the crosswalks activated one after another on a single stretch of road, making the cars stop for each one separately, and C) it could be designed such that the crosswalk can not be re-activated within X seconds/minutes of the last time it was activated. It would be much more convenient for cars, yet would still be pedestrian friendly.

No, Boulder could never be anything like LA. How about New Aspen?

I would have to agree. Lilly fitted me for my first pair of running shoes ever, before I even knew how to use a treadmill (let alone go running in an actual race). She is honestly one of the nicest athletes I have ever met in Boulder, and is extremely encouraging to beginners. It wouldn't surprise me if Lilly's quote was taken out of context.

Yep, it's definitely still there. I love odd art, but that one is really pushing it... hate it.
