Mr. Palais is correct when he says all parties involved need to feel confident. That is why I am unhappy with the lack of solid answers to many questions that have risen that neither Nestle nor our City Government has not yet answered. Questions like what damage will the trucks do to our tourism, like what route will the trucks take, who will pay for the needed upgrade and left-hand turn lane needed for the Frontage road.

I would also like to point out to Mr. Brostoff that Chief Pricher's overtime hours were cut and that his position was funded for 9 months and that calling Mr. Cramblett specifically out of 6 Councillors is unnecessary and rude.

"An excellent chief who built a well-trained cadre of volunteers who dealt with structure fires, ambulance calls, highway fires, medical emergencies, trail rescues and wild fires"

Too bad he was unable to deal with correctly reporting his actions to the City Council and didn't train the volunteers to carry on without his presence.

I really think this article should indicate it is in correction of an article printed in the HRNews edition printed Saturday, March 10. That edition was distributed in Post Office Boxes in Cascade Locks as a free item obviously meant to entice people to subscribe. Mistaken information should be corrected as soon as possible and in the same media as first presented.

I would also like to point out that the letter was written solely by Mayor Masters, and was not brought up previously in any Council meetings, nor was it proffered for a vote by Council members.

I understand the need for 'scoops' and for timely reporting even within a small community such as this one, yet wish the HRNews would not present facts until they have occurred.

I wonder why he still portrays her as fat. Obviously he hasn't learned a thing in the last 48 hours.

Both Connie and George need to realize you get more flies with honey. I am ashamed they have decided to approach this issue with a belligerent and accusatory frame of mind. As well-intentioned their method might be, not all of Cascade Locks agrees with it.

The power returned at 6:30 pm - you may want to fix that in the article and the door to door response missed whole blocks. We need to co-ordinate better so that no one gets missed next time.

Mr. Mahoffer:
I have. Why haven't you?

Mr. Moderator:

Listened to a "new" volunteer last night:

It seems that the "old" volunteers are taking this opportunity to act the same old way. They better realize that small towns like this have long memories, and do not forgive very easily.
