Big Hollywood : Open Thread Sunday

It has been a while since I have posted anything here, but I have been to the site. Today I was checking in to see the reaction to the Universal Death Star Care vote, and a message popped up on the computer that Big Hollywood contains harmful malware on it's site and did I want to continue to visit the site. I had to press 3 times the "Continue" option on my screen. There was also something about Google. Now I am not a member of the tinfoil hat wearing brigade, but I have never had this happen in all the time I have been to Big Hollywood. I did not know who to contact so whomever is monitoring this site might want to investigate why this message would pop up, and then to offer a re-route option to my computer elsewhere. Just as an added bit of info I have an Apple and not to worried about the malware message. I smell a rat in the wide, wide world of Google or the net. I hope everyone is ready to go to war with the Senate. Most people thought the bill would pass in the House, but we have to really pressure the power loving morons in the Senate. There are a lot of RINOS or DIABLOS in the Senate and they need to know we will bring them home right along with the House members who voted for this behemoth. And since President Chutes&Ladders does not seem to get the historical reference to the word "tea" in "teaparty" folks and has called us "teabags", well someone needs to give the dude a history book and stat. We the People, we of the red, white and blue, WE do not cotton having our ELECTED representatives voting AGAINST the will and loud voices of the populous. No teabag likes to be ignored. Note to President Shout Out, sticks and stones may break out bones, but names shall never hurt us. And as Dennis Miller so eloquently said, "Obama's coat tails are like the coat tails of a naked midget!" We "teabags" are going to show all that there is no mandate for a Marxist America, or for a Congress to big for their britches. "Can you hear us now!" mantra from now and come 2010! Dittos to the POTUS race in 2012. Bring on the second Revolution all you "teabags"!

Big Hollywood : Message Overdrive in ObamaWorld

I can't wait to see what is on the $18 million dollar website! I presume it will be a product similar to what we are so lucky to receive from this Oz group at the White House. http://www.greenpeace.org/india/news/no-need-for-... http://confederateyankee.mu.nu/archives/289537.ph... But while the media is promoting President Chutes&Ladders we have real serious issues at hand which need to be exposed, or at the very least exposed. For example, the links provided above. Buehler...Buehler...? This article clearly points to the reason so many of us across the fruited plains are concerned about how we will overcome the MSMLSD types in order to convey to the American public they are in danger. Do you think the American public realizes we just were punked by the Russians? Do you think it was easily detectable that we sent a community organizer to negotiate our safety, and the safety of "tiny" countries like Poland, Georgia, and the Czech Republic with the head of the KGB? How about this tidbit for the massive curtain engineers/sockpuppet operators, uh clue to you idiots, we just agreed to have the Russians buy more of our beef in exchange for our disarmament of missiles needed now more than ever. Basically, the Russians have a declining nuclear weapon stash, and ours is far more updated. We agreed to give up guns, and the Russians agreed to give up their slingshots! The phrase, "he brought a knife to a gun fight", just does not quite describe the vat of excrement we are in now regarding Russia. If you control the language you control everything. So, I disagree with those who say it does not matter about the media, or this Oz creation by those at the White House. President Candyland has been allowed to present himself as the smartest person in the room, or God. History, as some here have offered examples from, has more often than not given us rather distasteful, egomaniacal rulers, not Presidents when actions like those mentioned by Mr. Meath are pursued.

*This comment is not necessarily directed solely to Mark S. For me, Obama has been either partially right, (because he listened to a former Bush aid), or right with conditions. Todays example would be, he wanted to send more troops to Afghanistan, but tells our forces via Jones that we do not have their backs if they need more troops, or help to fulfill the mission. "Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot" was what Jones said. The message sent was I am going to drop a bunch of you off in Afghanistan, and after that screw you! When someone figures out what Obama's foreign policy is would you please get back to me because so far all I have seen is love dictators, hate our allies. I shudder to think what is going to come out of the meetings with Putin. Which just as an added FYI, it has been reported Russia is wanting back in force in Africa. Swell. Just when our CIA the weakest, and Israel has been alienated. Everyone wave good-bye to the Mossad intelligence we needed. Please God let Obama leave the Africa Command intact, or expand it! Uh, as for the economy, 10% unemployment, (really closer to 13%), is the highest in 26 years. In my best Sgt. Shultz voice, "I see nothing!" which inspires me to have confidence in this Administration other than doom. Death Star Care! Now there is something for you if you are 21! Because at 50 they plan on shooting you! Yeah! I have 7 more years to live! Whoopie! When in the past 10 years have we seen Democrats compromise? When? Their version of bi-partisanship is when WE compromise OUR ideals, and go over to THEIR side of the aisle. When we had control of Congress and Newt was hammering Clinton; that my friends was compromise. What part of compromise does Obama get? Hmmmm? He has shut out the Republicans, and has repeated this mantra, "I WON!" Insert Obama giving us a raspberry here! I get what Karl was saying, and I have tremendous respect for him. I think he is an asset to the GOP, and I listen to every word he says. BUTT MONKEY ALERT- Not in this. Not in the sense that we are currently at milk toast stage in American politics. We are at Def Con 8. We have an entire university system which has produced snot nosed kids who could not tell you what the first 5 lines in the Declaration of Independence was. Heck for that matter, you have a woman named Bass in CA who wonders why talk radio is allowed to exist because SHE thinks free speech is a form of terrorism. And SHE is definitely closer to 50. My own sister asked me what the Federal Reserve was. Face palm moment. Child was a product of public eduction in the 70's. The nation is not at "compromise" status. Karl thinks because there is such a loud cry from Conservatives over Obama that it is a version of BDS. Most Conservatives are far too intelligent to remotely resemble the muck from the Left who have BDS. We are screaming at the top of our lungs at Obama, and his Administration because there are 25 czars, the Constitution is being shredded, contract law has been burned, and innocent citizens and military members have been labeled as "terrorist". Yeah, the word which we cannot call those people who want to kill all of us. One ringah-dingy, two ringah-dingy to the "compromise" crowd, the smokey smell you are smelling is you, everything you own, and your country. Would you please get out of my way because I need to take back the country in the name of the Founding Fathers. Thanks! But yal keep that compromise avenue open. Wink, wink!

Big Hollywood : Review: 'The Hurt Locker'

To one and all who have served, and are serving in the military, thank you and God bless you for your self-less act in volunteering to protect my family and our country. To the family members who have a loved one overseas, thank you for being strong and supportive and may God also bless you! Boal was on with Ed Morrissey today. It was a good interview, and I was intrigued by the movie. I had also seen Katherine Bigelow on Fox one morning discussing the movie. But after reading this review, and in particular the military members insights; thanks I will pass on this one. I am very disappointed because I long for multiple movies to be made about our military accomplishments in both Iraq and Afghanistan. So many lives have been changed by our military, in both countries, and for the better. Why is it so hard for Hollywood to honor the tons and tons of good our military does instead of creating ugly things out of thin air? How utterly despicable to portray our military as men who would allow such actions as "bleeding out" to occur! We are fighting a large battle in Afghanistan right now. The whole "whiskey, tango foxtrot" comments from Jones, and all that followed, combined with this movie makes me want to punch someone out. Do these movie makers have any shame? Do they ever stop to think who they might be hurting when they put out crap like this? God forbid Al-Jazeera plays scenes from this movie! This adrenaline junky take is one I do not get.

Big Hollywood : Politicians Are What's Wrong With Politics

Hopefully one day you will. LOL! Be married that is. Yes we all have "regrettable actions", but there are those degrees of "regrettable actions" that just make this "regrettable action" of Sanford beyond pardonable. I would ask you to reconsider your far worse comment regarding the family. If you mean by that other family members go on murderous rampages killing their own family members, well then yes that is far worse. However, in this case, the damage Sanford is doing to this family is extremely damaging, and I would bet you they feel like they are going through a death. It certainly is a death to what these kids once took as secure, and stable. From this time forward their lives are never going to be the same. Life for them now could be so drastically different that what was once going to be their lives is no longer possible. For the rest of their lives, this will be a mark on these children because their father no only made a major mistake, but then he had to have the lack of compassion, and love for his children to make it worse by being daily in the news discussing his wants and desires.

Mr. Scott, thank you ever so much for this article! It clearly presents the case for Americans, hard working everyday Americans to take a stand, and kick out the nimrods in Washington. I like your conclusion that we are coming to take the country back. So often as of late, I have been rather down on my fellow citizens. It at times appears as if we are surrounded by zombies. Thanks for helping me have a little more faith in the American people. As to shrinking the federal government, from your typed words to God's ears! We are going to need some type of divine aid to kill this behemoth.

Uh, but not all of us have the regret of cheating on our spouses, and wrecking the lives of our children by having diarrhea of the mouth. Soul mate my posterior! Can you imagine as a young teenage male hearing this insanity coming from your father! At this rate the charade is going to show up on Broadway! If he was my husband, he would be at the Pearly Gates where he could beg to be let in. Either that, or the testicle lock box everyone claims Hillary has, I would use one of my own! And I for one could care less what the Russian styled mafia in the media, and Administration/DNC thinks about us. They call this hypocrisy because they know they do not even try to obey the laws, and as you said no one expects them to obey the laws. In this, Americans need some serious therapy. I beg the citizens of South Carolina to please, please remove this man from being your governor!

Big Hollywood : The Brevity Act: Time for a 28th Amendment

I believe the Interstate Highway Bill, the thing that created all of our interstates and highways, was only 20 pages. Key to the Cap and Tax bill is that not only its length, but they are saying it was not completed, and they have left room in it to add things if it is passed in the Senate. In other words, they passed an incomplete bill that can grow. If this does not pass in the Senate, watch for Carbon Czar to spring forth! Second key, Inhofe this a.m. confirmed there is mass evidence that someone on the Dem side, (White House and House), sent out emails squashing the study which slammed the EPA study. In other words, this is another IG deal where people were threatened with their jobs, and possibly other things like the shareholders in Chrysler, if they revealed the science in the Cap and Tax bill was more than incorrect, it would be detrimental to our economy. Inhofe says the bill is DOA upon arrival in the Senate, but STILL raise hell with not just your Senator, but all those in the Senate. Here is something to watch, Meme P has made strong moves to prevent any House member from being investigated. This is on Judical Watch. So far it is working. However, Inofe suggested the Senate might take up this investigation, and it could expose some criminal activities in the House. Meme cannot control the Senate. Remember, she and Dingy Harry are not fond of one another, and many on the Left would love to ditch her. I am thinking this could be a popcorn moment. Stay tuned!

OT-***ALERT*** I just received an email from a fellow tea party member. It would seem, according to Congressional rules, there are five days allowed for a House member to change their vote on a bill. I have no expertise in Congressional rules. Paging a lawyer, or someone who knows. Nevertheless, if this is true, we need to work like mad to stop Cap and Trade in the House. Who here really trust those morons in the Senate?

Terrific read, very spot on! Dems do not need no stinkin' principles, or history books either! Carter was a disaster in foreign policy, and domestic policies. As we are frying in this heat, wishing the East Coast would push some rain down in the general direction of Dixie, I recall sitting in the backseat of my parent's Pontiac without AC, sweat running down my spaghetti- stick skinny legs, and wondering why so many people wanted gasoline? What was the big deal about gas? Funny how history repeats itself when the historical illiterate are in charge. The oppressive heat has returned, and I am holding my breath as to when gas is going to get closer, and closer to $4.00 per gallon. I am having serious flashbacks! Even as a kid I knew Carter was a nut, and responsible for my pain. No gum, no candy bars, no Barbie dolls, no store bought clothes unless it was one pair of jeans. Carter was far worse, and more damaging to my psyche than Nixon constantly interrupting "Gilligan's Island" every day for those insane Watergate hearings. As a kid you could feel the fear crackle in the air when Peter Jennings would come on every evening to update us as to the status of our hostages. My parents were stressed, and as a kid you were keenly aware America was in deep pooh. Back then, we thought Carter was tripping, but this time we have a President who has really inhaled, really tripped on drugs. There is a similarity between Carter, and President Hate America/Israel. Cue how Carter views the Palestinians and Hamas, plus candidate Obama praising one Rashid Khalidi's views on Palestinians. Anyone notice how tight the Muslim Brotherhood is with both these men? How about the recent sending of diplomats to Syria with the request HAMAS come on down so they can participate with the "peace process". Face palming just seems so inadequate here. To be fair, not all Democrats are what we see now running around having luaus while the world is on fire, Iranians are being murdered, and over 3 million Americans do not have jobs. Zell Miller and Joe Liberman are fine examples of many Democrats who love this country, and would never, never sell out their country, or her citizens. Not that I agree with all their takes on the economy, but even a fair number of Dems know cap and tax is death to America. Quite frankly, I believe some Dems are in a total state of shock right now. SNAP OUT IT! Get on the save America train with us! I just wish more Americans would pause to review what America reaped after Carter because of Carter. Let's see we had the Beirut bombings, that scum Abu Nidal murdering all sorts of people, the emergence of UBL as a more powerful force, solidifying of the Taliban, Soviets in Afghanistan, Africa going butt wild with radical Islam, and in general we reaped the perception America was soft and weak. Some say 9/11 was birthed from the perception of American during the Carter years. Works for me. God help us if President Ice Cream is a Carter repeat. Things look so bad now that I am beginning to wish he was Carter. We did recover from Carter, and thanks to Ronaldus Magnus, I eventually not only got a Barbie doll, but a Barbie airplane to boot! However, I think we have officially jumped the Carter shark. As Obi wan Kenobi said, "you will never find a more retched hive of scum, and villiany." He was speaking of the Star Wars bar scene crowd, but do they really look any different than those in power right now? I could have sworn one of those alien things looked just like Rahm Emanuel!

Hold on there minute. Timeout. On the German stimulus deal, if you go back, and begin diagraming just who was issuing, and who was receiving monies in Germany, it does not translate to ending up only in the pockets of the German automakers. Those who really received the money are part of a cabal who support President Tricycle's views. AND might I add that ACORN is going global. I would be willing to bet some of the money that found its way to Germany is going to end up in the hands of ACORN International. Just like Goldman Sachs and AIG have managed to funnel money to Dems and ACORN. Not to mention Fannie and Freddie. In other words, the automakers in Germany might be one of those famous straw men President Skateboard likes so much. I see shell games. Plus, Merkel has made it to the hate list along with Sarkozy and Bibi. We know for a fact this Administration has openly stated they are working to get Livni in, and Bibi out. Merkel is walking a thin line with the German people, and money to grease the skids to take her out would make many in Washington very, very happy. Why else would ACORN go global? Nothing regarding money with this cabal in Washington is ever as it appears. Nothing.

Big Hollywood : Open Thread: 'Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen'

We also use http://www.movieguide.org/ We use both Focus on the Family, Movie Guide, and here to see what people say about the movies. Our yutes are now much older, but when the kids were younger, if we could not make up our minds as to whether or not they should see a movie, we just waited until we could watch it via cable, or satellite downloads. And then, if we liked it we would buy the dvd. I think it is a good idea for adults to continue using movie reviews like Focus on the Family, and Movie Guide even when the kiddies are grown, and out of the house. Sometimes, there are some movies that are garbage, and age makes no difference when it comes to watching it.

Big Hollywood : Ed McMahon - When Late Night Television Was Young

Same thing for me! I would get to stay up late as well and it was an absolute treat. We have slowly been adding the Johnny Carson DVDs to our collection. Watching them brings back all sorts of memories and they are all filled with laughter. I too would like to salute Ed for his service during WWII and Korea. He loved supporting our troops. Melanie Morgan told a story today about how he wanted to be a part of her efforts in raising money to send packages over to the troops. What a great American! Who could forget Ed in "Star Search"? Even without Johnny, Ed was still fun to watch. No one could ever replace Ed as the perfect straight man!
