Why do you think this is a matter of religion? Is the law not free of such bias? Your elected judge(s) should be perfectly capable of administering the law without the bias you refer to. If you expect the law to be administered without bias, you should be willing to drop the bias as well.

If the issue is a fair trial, then the media should not be giving the matter coverage like this article did. Defense attorney Oleson is quoted as saying the comm (community?) needs to stop judging these young men, but he did a poor job of containing his own comments to a reporter. Same for deputy prosecutor Smith. If they are really concerned about the matter, then why are they making (texted?) statements to the media? From the article, the police have denied national news interviews, so why are attorneys in the case not making the same commitment on behalf of their clients?
