Obama's words are vague, general, pointless and vapid. There is no connection he has to his own words, nor does his audience. His speeches are filled with platitudes, that in the long run are just empty speech. They are delivered in a scolding fashion, much like an angry parent talking to a child who does not understand. Everyone is talked down to, and it doesn't help when he lifts his nose to look down upon us.
Lincoln's speeches are a stark contrast. We are well informed and evoked to de better. We are engaged and are required to engage our minds. Mr. Lincoln crafts a story that challenges, soothes and encourages us all. We are spoken to as fellow humans, all equal. We need to think to understand his words.
A more likely candidate for comparison in speech is Franklin Roosevelt, the emptiness and sophmoric disconnect in his speeches seem to fore-ordain the dumbing-downed, high-handed, empty words contained in most politicos' speeches today!

And Justice Alito was priceless. At least there are a few people in the high echelons of our government that see through the lies.

It is the new CULTure! ;)
It is a sad commentary,,, and hurts my heart to know that I and many others chose to spend our treasure on the furtherance of this CULTure of death!
God bless!

George Soros or Danny Glover actually have thoughts?
Progressives do not think, they feel. They tend to confuse those two terms also, as most of society today does.
Progressives base all of their decisions on the shifting sands of their emotions. Thinking requires dealing in facts and truth! Facts and truth are totally devoid of emotion, yet when people are confronted by them, the usual reaction is offense and revulsion.
The left does not think, they feel.
Good un' Cowboy!

Usually network television portrays those who hold to the truths in the bible as serial killers and the like, ABC is somewhat independent of "progressive" political indoctrination.
Sometimes things slip through, including those shows that may incline to altruism. However, the mass media in this country continues its slide into an relativistic, ammorality. However, there will be some who will resist the descent to the very end.
It is these who bring something to mind for those of us who remember the Borg and the mantra "Resistance is futile, you will be assmilated"" Current political thought from "on high" (read Washington D.C.) thinks if they say it all will believe, or can be made to believe.
First, it will be in a non-imperative, soon followed by peer pressure through oppressive govertnment policy... finally culminating in tyranny!
God save the United States!
For those of us who know better, read Christians, we shall not be assimilated!

But... you have many forces at play, human nature in protecting your sustenance, government policy wonks who want to keep their job and elected government officials who want to effect more control on all of us. It is an unholy trinity!
Watch where your money goes, and be very wary of what charity you to which you donate. Do your homework, find those organizations and entities it supports with your donations. If you don't, you may be pruchasing your own shackles.

Yes, that point is true. But the editorial pages of the paper are decidedly anti-Christian. My money will not support those who choose to ignorantly and purposefully demean. I watch these people... and marvel at how we are buying our own shackles, blindly. I even watch what entertainment I pay to consume, because I don't want to make these rich, Hollywood, elitist buffons any wealthier.
Hey, so I miss movies like Avatar. In the long run, since I have not seen it, how can I really miss it? I can choose to support these idiotic elitists with my hard-earned cash... but, there is a hungry child somewhere in the world that is more deserving! That is where I will give my money.
