Mac OS X is the successor to the original Mac OS, which had been Apple's primary operating system since 1984. Unlike its predecessor, Mac OS X is a UNIX operating system built on technology that had been developed at NeXT through the second half of the 1980s and up until Apple purchased the company in early 1997.

Given this response I don't feel like you grasped the point of this post and the entire experiment as a whole. What part of the article didn't do a good job explaining it was an experiment conducted using scientific frameworks and best practices for methodology? It almost feels as though you may have skimmed the article and instead just commented on it.

You have always been one to lecture at great length about what you know best. You were one of the strongest proponents of a. helping people understand what they don't b. and to call nonsense for what it is. Since I've spent years trying to learn about religion I actually know more about it than most religious people. You cannot beat a dead horse into submission. Trying to bully others into your point of view, and having an opinion on everything that is voiced publicly makes one look foolish. So I've been part of an experiment? Wow! Uhhhh........Ok. One thing I got out of this is that it taught me when to back off things. Also has made me look at how I relate to people on Twitter. I see lots of angry tweets coming from other extreme liberal Christians lately and now know how to deal with them. Since I lean liberal also I've come to understand that any kind of behavior that borders on crazy doesn't help and only leads to stress. I find that the internet is no place for discussions. Face to face is much better. And I hope we can start those soon. Thanks for helping me grow.

So, I unfollowed you, despite being a Portlander and sharing many of your liberal views. I didn't want to cut off all contact though, so I didn't. I just felt like you and D. were continually attacking me on the subject of religion, and it felt toxic. I also felt that seeing your (perceived) anger in the Twitter stream all the time was toxic. Yes the parties suck but they actually usually have enough mental fortitude to not be little more than dryer lint as opposed to ma and pa teapartier who somehow manage to make the banjo playing kid from Deliverance seem like a Rhode Scholar. As for Ron Paul: He thinks we can survive as a nation by becoming purely isolationist. We\\\'re a global economy now, have been for years and there is no reason to pull back from that. Air, water don\\\'t respect borders so how can anyone expect it to be a good thing to pretend that it does. We need future thinkers not those who decided that 200 years ago was an awesome time for America. We\\\'re better than this.

All you bring out by these blog entries and comments though are the people who will call you "asshats" and such (as evidence provided by Luke). It doesn't incur any actual logical discussion. As for the Democrats, rest assured they're doing just as many idiotic things as the Republicans. You however live in PDX, which will shield you from a vast majority of the dumb things Democrats do because most of Portland will apologize and talk around the Democrat screw ups. However the Republicans get no benefit in that city (nor any urban environment really). As I've said though, both parties are full of idiots and if you think that one party loves or believes in the individual or the citizenry your deluding yourself. Most won't even attack the actual underlying problems that are rotting the core of the nation. Zoning, currency, economic & civic freedoms being eroded, bureaucratic bullshit like the TSA (A Democrat demand on Bush, which the Republicans gave in on and accepted to ram through the Patriot Act & other nazi nonsense). Either way, Democrat or Republican (unless someone as serious as Ron Paul or Ralph Nader get elected) we're screwed until the shit hits the fan. Then the citizenry will have to clean it up, because don't expect the politicians to be able to do anything then. There are more spineless cowards in office today than the country has ever seen in power... but I do digress... back to more coding.

Adron - An open letter to John Boehner

Oh dear, I don't usually comment on political things these days, but WTF. Might as well, I have an hour or so. First I'll bring out a point. An economic fact is that politicians really can't create jobs. They're horrible at it. At least honest, truthful, prideful jobs that Americans want. Hell, that people anywhere want. The Soviet Union was a PERFECT example of this. They created lots of jobs. But jobs that people didn't really care about. Japan also does this, and because of their social and cultural rigidity (along with a host of other reasons) they have a vastly higher suicide rate than the United States has even during a recession. Politicians are the LAST people we should look for the create "jobs". Politically created jobs do not sustain an economy, they eventually are short lived and often cause more damage to the sustainability of the economy than good (unless you believe in Keynsian economics, which even then he stated the Government should have limited efforts in attempting to put people to work, as the economy is a vastly superior "thing" to create jobs than the Government). Now dont' get me wrong, I think Boehner and the Republicans are generally a bunch of douche bags. At least the vast majority of them. They also have no message these days and are growingly confused about themselves. However, the Democrats are just as guilty of this nonsense. They promise change and deliver continued mediocrity. ...anyway, read the WHOLE huge response here since this comment response system is cutting me off: http://adron.wordpress.com/2011/06/15/a-retort-wi...
