The purpose of the Second Amendment is so the the people can protect themselves from future tyranny. They need the tools to do this. The term "Well Regulated" in the Second Amendment meant "Well Manned and Equipped " in 1791 as was determined in the 1939 United States v. Miller case after referencing the autobiography of Benjamin Franklin. The concept of Government Regulation, as we understand it today, did not exist at the time. United States v. Miller also determined that the term "Arms" refers to "Ordinary Military Weapons". American Citizens have the right to Keep and Bear, which means Own and Carry, any weapons that a soldier carries into battle. That includes past, present and future weapons. The American people still have some work to do with regard to taking back their rights.

Why this canard is continually repeated after having been debunked by the government's own statistical study (FBI Uniform Crime Report) is enough to give an honest person heartburn. I was in the audience last night and watched Mike Pence show his true colors as to what he really feels about the voters. When that single parent asked her question, and it was Pence's turn, he spent just a wee bit of allotted time to answer her and then abruptly turned his back on her, and started verbally sparing with Gregg. Pence never ever considered how much effort it took for her, a single mother, not getting child support, working as a waitress and going to school, to attend this debate...how rude..but how telling of his true character.

Everyone in this community that cares about the education system for our kids in this community should be supporting Bill Sniadecki. He has lost his job because of some of the politically incorrect decisions that he has made while being on the school board. His decisions are based on the benefits for our kids, not the benefit of the political machine that has been raping our tax dollars. Parent, being the President of the school board should have stood up and demanded that the 10 million received from our property taxes be used for our kids, not his baseball stadium. Now, because of his inaction, our school system, our teachers, our aids and more importantly, our kids are suffering. If anyone that is part of our school system should be censured, it is definitely not Bill Sniadecki. In fact, it is Parent that should be censured at the least and even removed. Remember, in corrupt systems, whistle blowers are punished. Bill Snaidecki is a whistle blower trying to protect our kids and screaming about the bad decisions being made by the school administration. This action brought about by Parent should have every citizen standing with Snaidecki. Once again, this is par for our community, politics as usual and at its worst. Now it is affecting our kids education. These evil black scary guns are locked in a case along with much of their ammunition. It's pathetic that a retailer has their hands tied and is being told what it can and cannot sell. They hold a FFL (Federal Firearm's License) and are allowed to sell GUNS. Anyone wishing to purchase any of their guns is subjected to a FEDERAL background check prior to the purchase being completed. I can effect more carnage with kitchen knives and a hammer than with a box of ".223 ammunition".. What if I pay a kid to steal me a hammer, screwdriver and set of kitchen knives ?? These can all go through a wall or window. If WalMart is allowed to sell toilet bowl cleaner (hydrochloric acid), hammers, screwdrivers, kitchen knives, and razor blades, surely they must be a nuisance and contributing to a dangerous community, right ? Midwest Gun Exchange has CASES of ammunition laying on the floor for someone to steal if they want, Dunham's has boxes and BOXES of ammo out in the open to steal as well. When is the local news going to quit fearmongering and report actual factual news ?? Maybe lots of concerned legal, responsible gun owners can get together at WalMart and purchase all of their "scary black guns and ammo" so the sheep have nothing to be afraid of ??

As an interesting aside, some are speculating that the president's advisors, thinking of Gore's heavy sighs during the debates, warned Mr. Obama about showing distain or disrespect for his opponent. Many speculated that Obama would be on the defensive and Romney on the offensive due to their relative standings in the polls and in key swing states. However, the president was even more subdued than expected, leading to the theorizing about the advice he received going into this debate. Of course, now both teams will go back to the drawing board (and the training rooms) in preparation for round 2: Town Hall Meeting. ALSO: An update. Political Science Club volunteers counted 80 people at the debate. Not bad for a campus with a small and relatively new residential population! Students at IU South Bend are paying attention, eager to get informed, and ready to get engaged!

I truly hope that people do not base any decisions off of this article, as it was incredibly misleading and biased. For example, they start off by saying they dug through local gun laws and the results would surprise us. Phrasing things in such a manner implies that they are doing something wrong or are breaking the law. However, if you read the article, they did not ever actually say they broke the law. Furthermore, they claim they were selling tactical shotguns. I did not see any "tactical" guns in their pictures. They went to the gun manufacturer's website... but the pictures they showed were not from their standard product line. Instead, they went to a special section of their website with an online catalog that shows items made specifically for law enforcement... not items aimed at the general public or the items sold at Walmart. But not only did they fail to go to the proper part of the website, they failed to even show a shotgun that remotely resembles the ones Walmart sells! Instead, the show a pistol gripped, short barrel shotgun without a stock. These are made for breaching by SWAT and tactical teams...and I can guarantee you will not find them at a Walmart. The lady with the lifetime gun permit claims she is against assault weapons. There is a huge difference between tactical weapons and assault weapons. Assault weapons have a number of key features. For example, most assault weapons have a selective fire that lets you shoot in semi-auto, burst, or full-auto modes. Also, it wasn't the reporters that claimed a person can buy ammo at any time... it was a person they were interviewing. I want to know if he actually tried to buy ammo at night. I have tried at other locations and couldn't. I cannot remember the time, but I think it was 8 or 9pm when they stopped selling it. Perhaps it is different at this walmart, but I kind of doubt it. I guess this is an example of the reporters giving another person's comments/statements and letting the public believe they are fact.

Wow its amazing how people can & will say anything to protect a killer. So iguess now if someone dresses,talks,or looks like a "gangbanger" they automatically are? The de leon family must be delirious if they think the fact that ramon or "munchies" as he is known shot MULTIPLE times at cesar they are going to believe it was self defense. He never should have been nosey & gotten into a fight that did not involve him at all. Matter of fact if he was so sure he was a gangbanger who was "ruining the neighborhood" & "threatening" him then why would him & dimas de leon still hang out with him? There will be justice done wether here or with the lord above. Noone has the god given right to kill a person. My prayers go out to the flores family & friends & those 5 KIDS who thanks to ramon & dimas de leon will never have the chance to hug,kiss, or see their father. I hope that the de leon family is proud to be known & be related to cold blooded killers such as ramon & dimas...NOT shame on you!

I am excited to see the community coming together to take a stand. I live near Eastport and the violence is ridiculous. I must say, though, that the GUNS are NOT the problem. Guns do no harm by themselves. I am a gun owner. I dont want to make this a controversial situation, but I would much rather everyone just say "Stop the violence." and Leave the gun part out of it. ANYWAYS, I am hoping that this peace walk -which I will be attending- helps us as a community to come up with strategies and plans to actually stop the violence. We cannot just rely on the police and city officials to make it stop. As a community, we cannot allow our children to be killed. The youth in this area need SOMETHING to do. Something productive!

As the homeowner next door to Mr. O'Grady we tried to help when we first moved in we cleaned all the weeds and junk between our homes. I am out of work and I have tryed to keep my home from falling into disrepair. It is very hard. Mr. O'Grady have been offered free of charge a place to live and has refused it also he was offered help to fix up his home and all he had to do was pay a small percent of the cost and some community service. You guys went into his home and smelled the stench, in the suumer I have to keep the windows shut own my home to keep the smell out. The main drain is cloged and he has had no water usage for the last 27 years. The human waste he and his girl friend generate were thrown outside (in the storm drain or along the back of his garage), I had photos of this and they were given to city officals who have tried to get the problem fixed but to nothing seems to happens. The people on the block have seen all of this and are tired of him. Please do more research before you run a story on tv there is always something more to it. If you need more info contact me.

I thoroughly enjoyed going out to the ball park. The family experience is great. If the PA system is upgraded so you can hear all the time and the wait time would be reduced at the concessions, the experience would be that much more enjoyable. Let the Diamondbacks help produce a team with a better record and the attendance will increase that much more. This park is as good as Parkview Field in Fort Wayne and I believe they drew over 300,000. South Bend ranked 12th out of 16 teams in attendance and this team owner, city and ball club deserve better support than that. Come on fans, you have a great thing here, get out and support them.

If these tapes violated the wire tap act , there should have been charges already filed against some people. If the Mayor protected them from charges then he in fact violated law by obstructing justice when he attempted to keep them from being charged. I believe the mayor is keeping these tapes under wraps because the content will implicate wrong doing on several peoples part and will result in some heavy legal issues and so forth. This will not stop the issue from being solved, it will just take more time to get it done. The lies from Pete and all of his people so far have paved the way for him and others to be removed and this may be the only option left for the people of south bend. CUBG WILL STAY THE COURSE TILL THIS IS HANDLED PROPERLY!!!
