I have a daughter with CP, but she has home school. I don't blame the dad one bit! My other daughter was bullied her first year of middle school, by some big (ugly) girls and a boy. It was HELL for her and some of the other girls and the school did NOTHING to protect them. So good for him! It's about time someone stood up to these bullies. And shame on the damn school.

Jaguar, most schools these days do have zero tolerance policies for bullying. However having the policy & truly inforcing it are two different things. Most schools intiate the policy to comply with whatever statute is in place & then turn their heads & look the other way. I don't agree with going to the parents home & I'll tell you why. Apples don't fall far from the tree. Going to their home could put you at risk for the parents taken phyisical action against you. Best in my opinion not to deal with the school administrators either. GO TO THE SCHOOL BOARD & complain that the zero tolerance policy is not being inforced properly within the schools administrators. I chose to solve my son's bullying issues in this manner & I GOT RESULTS. A new principle & a new coach. The school board dealt with the parents & my son had a great 4 years in high school. He had tollerated the bullying all the way through school & I had dealt with more school officials than I care to count. ALL OF YOU OUT THERE save yourselves some time, GO TO THE TOP!

Obviously you have never had a child that was bullied to the point of true fear, or been bullied yourself. Have you not seen in the news how years of bullying have prompted some kids to take actions in their own hands? As a mother of a child with CP, this situation completely disgusts me. Children these days have absolutely no respect or compassion for other kids, specially kids with disbilities. I firmly believe that your kids represent you as a parent, and when your kid acts that way it should be a wake up call that you are not being a good parent. Im not saying that the father acted the correct way, but at that moment his father instinct kicked in and his first thought was to retaliate at the kids that are hurting her daughter. I think I would of done the same thing, again, not saying that is the correct way to go about it. But if you have already gone to the school and complained and noting has been done, then there is little left to do. Teachers, principles, bus drivers, kids and specially parents need to realize how harmful bullying and teasing can be. Im sure they would of acted the same way if it was there kid!

How can you go talk to the parents??? I asked my school for a parent conference here in Waco, Tx. and was advised that due to confidentiality that could not be done. Assistant prinicipal advised what good would it do to discipline these children as they don't get any from home???? Maybe this is what these children needed!! Someone needs to stand up to them.

Obviously if the schools, parents, and bus drivers are not doing what needs to be done because they are scared or don't care we as PARENTS and CAREGIVERS need to step up and teach these kids enough is enough.. Children being bullied affects them for the rest of their life.. More needs to be done to protect are children!!! Keep up the good work dad and don't feel bad for defending your daughter-- I totally feel you.. But it makes it worse when she doesn't even have the opportunity to defend herself. I completely agree that he did what needed to be done. I have had the same problems with going to the schools and nothing was done to even attempt to fix the problem. The assistant principal advised that there is not much they can do with these kids that are causing the problem as the parents don't care. What ARE you supposed to do??? Sit back and wait for them to bully them to suicide or will the bullies hurt or kill my daughter first??School should be the one place that children should not have to worry about anything but learning.

OMG, this dad should be commended for standing up and doing something. Judging from the fact that these kids were NOT scared of a grown man, I can only imagine how they reacted to his daughter. Why is the focus on the dad, it should be on the DELIQUENT kids and a system that clearly protects them. Who is protecting that little girl. When a system protects EVIL and not Good, we have a problem. We send our kids to school to get an education NOT to have their self images destroyed. The admiistration should have a ZERO tollerance policy for BULLY's. EXPELL THEM!! Then the parents that created them can quit their jobs and homeschool. Education is a privilege, not a right. If all they get is a slap on the wrist, it's no wonder why we will be serving them meals in our Prisons someday. They have no respect AT ALL for anyone or any laws. Why are we NOT hearing about the kids getting EXPELLED?????? It's no wonder why Florida has the CRIME THAT IT DOES.
