It's really great to see this trend. And I think it's only growing deeper. Beyond companies that simply give a percentage to a cause. I think consumers are moving towards companies that have social good at the very core of their purpose, and profit is only a means of achieving that goal. There are at least a dozen or so articles that are geared specifically toward nonprofit social media help. Interesting post Kerry, and some worthwhile recommendations. I particularly like #'s 2, 4 & 5 as those are the most likely to drive dialogue and not just Likes - which are much more valuable in terms of the role each of these interactions play in brand's content being distributed across the platform beyond just their fans. This Facebook Reach Analysis looked into the relationship between engagement on Facebook Pages and the resulting reach, or number of people exposed to the content as a result of the engagement. "Now let me contrast that by saying that I’ve spent my whole life working in the performing and literary arts. Those are often irreverent worlds. Part of me wants to say that it’s just a word. I hate political correctness. I think it’s usually absurd. Everyone should learn to take things in context. Almost everything that comes out of your mouth could conceivably offend someone somewhere, and you can’t live your life walking on eggshells. That part of me wants to say “get over it.”" I've never agreed with something more than this. However, I love how you make this so practical. People will jump down your throat for an ideological issue, but when it comes down to it, you just don't want to piss people off. So true. Everything you do is a representation of yourself and can build or destroy your reputation!
