I kid! I kid! From the feed I know what your comment is, and you make a good point. It's still kinda sad to me that Nike is getting all the credit for a project a community of designers created on their own - but I have to admit it's Nike who is using it in an inspiring way.

The fact that a corporate entity has recreated it and called it their own is causing some people some frustration: http://hackaday.com/2009/07/09/chalkbot-vs-graffi...

Missed you at the beach, (no BBQ there, for sure) but I thought about you and Kit while watching my own brother/sister duo ride the waves with Hutch and Porter.

I think it is the very technical breakdown of regions, or the colors representing the sauces, or just the subject matter. Thanks for sharing!

Justin - Tumblr Video

I'll concede Linux and Wikipedia, but I'm still skeptical that the mass innovation will be as glamorous as that video portrays. Take the switch from "pyramids" to "communities" for instance. Have you noticed how communities tend to eventually block out of information and ideas instead of discovering them? Both Digg and Reddit started out as sites that explored the web and found new and exciting things. After a while however, a group of committed users took over both of these networks and now effectively control what hits the homepage according to their ideology. Reddit and Digg have almost created philosophies which filter what gets to the top. To some extent this has happened with Wikipedia too, with a small group of committed users controlling the majority of the editing. I'm not saying the revolution isn't coming (or isn't here), but I do think there are serious questions that need to be asked in regards to whether we are generating streams of information or streams of noise. What is our signal-to-noise ratio, and has it gotten better? I haven't had time to read the article from your last post yet, I'll try to do that.
