Damion Steen - review

It think the journey is about perspective that leads us to the truth and life of Jesus. We start with our own perspective and God in his love through grace and our faith in Jesus, leads us on a journey of revelation to intimacy with Him. His Grace leads us, step by step shedding light and truth on the path (of our perspective) And so I think while the review of your book may have pointed out various factual inconsistencies, and did add various clarifications; such things do not take away from the purpose and perspective of truth to which has been unfolded through your writings. You point to Jesus through history, time, geography, family, .... through life. He is real and present in your life and writing and I pray that you will continue growing, developing, producing fruit in light of the truth he works through you.

kirkbartha - the Jewish question

I think you and I are related... The part I didn't tell you in my reply was that Robert's brother Philip was in the Air Force (I actually typed it and then deleted it), wanted to see if the dots would fall in line by themselves like this... I believe I met Philip Sr's wife a few months ago, at my parents home in London, Ontario. I met your grandmother, and her son who was with her, who is either your dad or your uncle. Email my at kbartha (at) gmail (dot) com and I'll put you in touch with my mom.

My granfather's name was Phillip Giles had he had a brother named Robert. I know my grandfather was in the Canadian Air-force, so you saying Robert was in the Canadian Navy makes it all the more interesting. I would love to get in touch with your mother to compare notes and see if we have any sort of connection. Thanks again!

kirkbartha - the Jewish question

Hi there Nicole, thanks for asking, not invasive at all, quite a coincidence. My mother's father's name was Robert, and he was in the Canadian Navy. My mom has some good work done on ancestry.ca and I can put you in touch with her so you can have access to various things she's discovered, if there are further alignments between you on her side of the family. In the meantime, touch base anytime, and may the Lord bless you and keep you, and cause his face to shine upon you, and give you his peace.

Nicole - the Jewish question

I came across your blog (which I will say is an interesting read) in search of my own family history. My great-grandparents were also named Annie and Arthur Giles and strangely enough the Arthur in your photograph looks very much like my father and grandfather. I hope I am not being too invasive in asking you what your mother’s father’s name is, in hopes of making a connection or at least finding an interesting coincidence. Hope to hear from you.

He holds out His hand before us, enormous in size; in the palm crumbs, yet when we reach out for one and accept His offer the crumb is large in our sight and becomes the sufficiency by which we live. We learn to walk on water. We learn the true meaning of Trust. Our sight shifts from here to There. His Kingdom becomes our Kingdom. Through loss we become wealthy, stored up where moth nor rust can spoil our riches in His glory. Whose son are you?
