That is 500 more people commuting on that road. There is no way to tell if these are new riders or if people just switched their route. There is no doubt Folsom is a more pleasant riding experience. I question the wisdom of spending the money on this. I have not driven Folsom during peak hours, but there is no way this would not have been a disaster on Iris.

Actually, she won't have to bother with your statistics. Anyone that's had to sit in traffic for three or more light cycles knows it's far longer than a 1 minute delay. The good news is, there will still be bike lanes there when Folsom returns to it's 4 lane configuration. Most cyclists in town don't care to ride up next to traffic, they'd rather use the creek path and other side streets. Denial is not just a river in Egypt, Jordan. I'll see you on Wednesday for the Folsom Fatwa.

Thanks for clarifying. I agree that it's still challenging for bikes going straight and drivers turning right - however, in my experience that's been true on every street in Boulder with a right-turn lane, not just right-sized ones. I'd really like to see the city pursue what's called a Dutch intersection in which the bike lane always remains to the right of the car lanes and there is a small curb in the street to force drivers to make a true 90 degree turn rather than slicing through the bike lane.

They say the amendments will block all development, or eliminate representative government, or pit neighbor against neighbor. The amendments won't do these things, but they'll bring more fairness to development." Myrl, it is only your opinion that these amendments won't block all development. It is my opinion that they effectively will. It will divide the city into more than 60 fiefdoms and just a few activists in each will wield enormous power. I certainly don't like all the the development that has occurred, but the answer is to elect better council people. I couldn't disagree more with your council recommendations.
